Welcome, LoA! Tell us about you....what skills do ya have? We need everything, at this point.

And DF, I accept the nomination. Now all we need is a second for myself and for Flubber (who is the other nominee).

Do we have seconds for either nominee?

Also....we need a new posting pronto....someone to head up the Island's Agricultural concerns so's we don't starve. Code Name: "Franks and Beans?" LOL

That responsibility will encompass two broad categories:
        1) Identifying what native food sources are available (and doing a check on available water)

        and

        2) taking stock of what seeds we got, and where/how much to plant.

For the moment, since I'm the only person who mentioned green thumb, I'll head that up, but will step aside when we get another person who's into it.

Do we have anybody with skills in electricity or power generation? If possible, it'd be nice to get the lights turned on....more options.
we can use water mills to get strength to turn the turbines - thats no problem - the issue is getting the turbines.

Well, we gotta assume that we won't be able to carry those out on our back, and until Kid chimes in and says otherwise, we have to assume that's the limit of what we get.

Any way of turning old style mill wheels into electrical generators? Those, we can make....but I have not the first clue about how to make that generate juice.

              Anyone?

I am pretty good with carpentry, a decent swimmer, and also pretty good with agriculture although we might need to study up on viable foodplants in a south Pacific isle

DF can put in a little casino for passing cruise ships

Mrs Flubber is a RN so she can take care of our booboos-

Little flubber is 15 months old and gurantees to amuse you 85% of the time and aggravate you the rest. very pleasant but his skills seem to consist of walking/climbing and saying 'nana ( for banana of course)-- I figure his love for bananas will mean feeding him is easier and in about 3-4 years we can combine his climbing skills into our food gathering

dang, you know what the problem is? few of my skills would be rated as "survival". i could do really well networking our stuff, and maybe instigating cyberwarfare, though...

Flubber put us in the South Pacific with his request, so let's assume a supply of coconuts, and if you can make fuel out of them, then let's make a new posting right now.

We'll call it, Code Name: Tom Bodette (from Motel6 fame) - in charge of getting the lights turned on. You up for the job?
