Yeah, that's it, he MUST be good because he's lost the trust of and given the middle finger to just about all of our allies!

    • Just because they are our allies does not mean they are

      a) right.

      b) always acting in our interests.

      c) sincere themselves.

Because Bush angered all of these nations makes him an ARROGANT president, not a GOOD president.

Allies never act in our interest only in thier interest. If those coincide bully for us but it's never a good idea to assume any other country is acting for our benefit.

Let's be particular. By alliances you mean France and Germany. France hasn't been a true ally since de Gaulle. Germany was anti-American and anti-Bush before Iraq. Think back to the Bush-bashing that took place in the last major German elections.

So why do you instictively come to the defense of John Kerry when the question of fraudulent war records come up?
Anytime the term "liar" is mentioned all liberals immediately defend all Democrats running for office. Its an inbred instinct.

              • Ned,

I hope you weren't implying that de Gaulle was actually an ardent ally. His "go it alone", "France first and foremost", ploys are manifold.

He's trumpeting it because the ENTIRE reason he went to Vietnam was to film and build up for his future political career and run for the Presidency. He didn't go to Vietnam to serve his country, he went to Vietnam so he could pad his political resume.

Now that all of his efforts aren't giving him a huge lead he's frustrated that his Vietnam experiences are going to have been a fruitless investment.

                  • Actually a liability not even a fruitless investment, more like one investing in penny stocks and losing your shirt.

                      • at least somebody actually did go over to vietnam.

i like how to some conservatives and rightists, being a liar, a slanderer, a leftist, anti-us, evil, and anti-patriotic are entirely synonymous.

i would like nothing more than for the entire right to be exterminated in a blinding and dizzying flash of light, which i will call "truth", but will in all likelihood be a nuclear blast.

of course, i'd also like nothing more than for the entire left to be exterminated in a blinding and dizzying flass of light, which i will call "political correctness", but will in all likelihood be a nuclear blast.

                        • But the left is so clueless, its just so entertaining watching them trying to accomplish anything.

Especially later, when it all collapses around them.

                            • the right hasn't exactly impressed me with anything they've tried to accomplish.

if anything, what they have succeeded in ramming through as only further alienated me. like that recent tax cut to working families who would get breaks if they had children.

oh, except of the family earned less than 40k. then they wouldn't get that break at all. boy, that's family friendly.
