    Well they pretty much asked for it. I can't say I'm mourning the loss.

    I heard about this yesterday, I can't that say I'm suprised. Anyways, this is further proof that Allawi doesn't give a **** about freedom.

      have any of yall actually watched Al-Jazeera? My egyptian stepfather had bought a satellite dish and would watch it. my knowledge of arabic is non-existant but i dont see how their media is anymore inciteful than ours.

                  Yes, so he bans the only Independent Arabic TV source in Iraq. A highly effective barrier against terrorism, that.

                  And even if the Iraqi gov't's claim that Al-Jazeera is responsible for terrorism is somehow true, I'd remind you that shutting down Sadr's allies' paper set off a widespread insurrection.

                  And your statement is highly ironic given that Allawi organized terrorist operations in Baghdad while he was an exile, bombing a movie theatre and a school bus.

                              You can hardly compare a foreign "news" organization like Al-Jazeera with an organzation with deep local roots like Al-Sadr's paper. The locals will care less about it.
