Besides, Kerry has been using his shipmates in his campaigns for over 15 years. Most of them weren't asked, they volunteer.

McCain is an extreme right-wing nut. He has integrity, however, and is not owned by the two major investors in the Repug party, the right-wing Christian evangalists or corporate America. What most people admire about him is the fact that he stands up for what he believes in, even when it goes against his party and the fact he seemingly can't be bought. I will admit, in modern American politics, that makes him very attractive to people from all political persuations.

You need to seriously look at McCain's beliefs and politics. The man is a hard-core right-winger. Like I said, the difference between him and many in his party is his integrity. The fact that he will stand up against the corruption in his own party, rather than being a total backer all the time gives the impression that he is moderate. Not being a tool of coporate America or the Christian right-wing doesn't make you a moderate.

That's fine. I know he holds his beliefs out of a firm personal conviction (another thing that makes him seem moderate) rather than because he's pandering to some group for political benefit. It is a testiment to the decrepit state of American politics Ming mentioned, that a man with integrity seem moderate.

If you had read my earlier post...

Of course I will vote for Obama... as I said, I'm not some zombie that votes for somebody just because they were selected by my party. The repubs have put up their fair shair of right wing lunatics and nazis for elections in Illinois, and I haven't voted for them

BOTH parties are experts at it... It's OK to be outraged that this is what our election system seems to have boiled down to... but to be outraged about a single incident, and to give the impression that only the other party are scum bags is kind of silly since your party is just as bad.
