And what facts did Moore play fast and loose with in the Kennedy instance? This hysteria over him from the right is really starting to be amusing.

    • And on an unrelated note, apparently Ray Bradbury is extremely upset that Michael Moore, in Bradbury's words, "stole" the title of his book.

"He stole my title and changed the numbers without ever asking me for permission," the 83-year-old Bradbury reportedly said in the interview."

Bradbury reportedly tried to contact Moore about the title several months ago, but the filmmaker avoided him.

      Just a tidbit of information.

Titles are not copyrightable. Secondly, Bradbury has done the same to other people's works, notably Whitman's I Sing the Body Electric. I also seem to remember that the phrase Something Wicked This Way Comes is not original with Bradbury either... is it from the Bible?

          In short: Stop whining Ray.

Titles cannot be copyrighted, or why I'm slower than JohnT.

              • And I hate to dig up posts from the beginning of this thread, but

The two murderers went bowling the in the monring, right before they went to the school and began killing.
They didn't. Michael Moore, on his website, originally stated the title BfC came from the 'little-known fact that the two killers, Dylan and Eric, were at a bowling class at Columbine High School on the morning of the murders.'

Police and school officials both have said they skipped the class.

He later changed it to that they were supposed to be there.

Of course, this is just a nitpick against the great films of Michael Moore which contain no error.

We expect no less, since you've been flailing about hopelessly in vain attempts otherwise.

Nobody here has said Michael Moore's films are error-free--that's a strawman if ever I've heard one. No movie has ever been error-free. The question is whether or not Moore is deliberately lying to people for malicious purposes. So far, I've not seen any real proof of that.

I was referring to Moore, who said every fact in the film is true

EDIT: And certainly no one can argue Moore does not go to, IMO, unethical lengths to take speeches and statements out of context.

And where did he say this? Can we get some context? As we've seem time and again, people love to do to Moore's words what they claim he is doing, namely taking what he says out of context--or, as was shown earlier in this thread, blatantly misrepresenting what he was saying.

                            So cite.

Ironically, on the same day the DVD was released, Moore issued a libel threat against his critics on MSNBC's "Buchanan & Press," saying, "Every fact in the film is true. Absolutely every fact in the film is true. And anybody who says otherwise is committing an act of libel."
