Then why present it as if a question asked in the middle of a golf outing is tantamount to a foreign policy decision made in the WH?

    • I find the golf clip especially relevant to the monumental failure Bush is because in August of 2001, leading up to 9-11, he was taking the second longest presidential vacation in history at Crawford. He was sleeping on the job, so to speak. And we got attacked.

It also goes to the fact that he probably doesn't take anything (including terrorism) seriously. He's a drunken frat boy. And America deserves a real leader, not some dumb schmuck.

So is Air Force One, but do you think he should spend his time flying around the country away from his cabinet, lawmakers, ambassadors, much of the press, etc etc etc, along with looking less like a President and more like a corrupt CEO.

irt the Press Conferences, Bush still has had far fewer press conferences than either Bush I or Clinton, and I believe Reagan and Carter as well. If he has time to vacation over half the year, he has time to talk to the public for an hour every once in a while.

George Tenet testified that he didn't brief the president during the entire month of August because, "He was in Crawford, I was in Washington."

            Talk about incompentence.

            • He probably had someone else do it. You don't talk about confidential intelligence info over the phone.

Nobody was briefing the president in those matters. And 3,000 died because of Bush's (and others) incompetence.

Does it actually matter one iota to you? If someone showed that Georgie got no briefings in that area would it make any difference to your opinion?

                      • Obviously. My point was that it matters not one iota whether it's Tenet or some flunky who briefs him, so long as he gets briefed.

Somehow, I think the Director of CIA can give a better briefing than some flunky.

I'm glad you have low standards when it comes to national security.

Why? It could be delivered by the little speech thing on old Macs, and it wouldn't change the information content.

                              • What, do you think Tenet's powerpoints are just that much better, or something?
