  • NO, of "working vacations". I always thought Vacation = not working.

Perhaps Jimmy Carter was the only one who got the point-that, or Imran is delusional as to how much working goes on.

    • GePap -- cell phones, laptops, and PDAs blur the line between vacation and work since many people end up taking these gadgets with them when they go on vacation.

      but anyway . . . . . .

People go on vacation to relax, clear their minds, etc. This does not necessarily involve sleeping in a hammock all day.

        • GePap apparently has never had a job of any real authority, where he has to call in every day, vacation or not, wanting to or not.

And I bet this is all part of the JohnT revolution.

He is a government civil servent after all .

To say 'vacation = not working' in the context of Presidential vacations is ignorant and bordering on the absurd.

Yeah, but when you're working, you don't spend the afternoon trying to learn how to ride a bike.

Even when you check in with the office while on vacation, you're still doing a fraction of the work you normally would do.

Check out Moore trying to defend himself on his own web site from the charges that he used selective editing to put words in people's mouths (in Bowling for Columbine). Talk about attacking the messenger in order to avoid dealing with the message, Moore delivers this in spades. A lot of people who very generally agree with his viewpoints are embarrassed by him, just like conservatives are embarrassed by Fez or whenever Anne Coulter is allowed out in public.

It doesn't matter to what extent you actually work on your "vacation" -- it still blurs the line between work and vacation.
