He didn't give us the game. We were winning until the dying seconds of the game, where the very penalty you're *****ing about (which was an obvious penalty, by the way, which makes this all the more laughable) set up a play which gave you the tying goal, sending it into OT. You lost in OT because the Canucks weren't playing on the same level as the Flames.

You obviously didn't even watch the game. Calgary outchanced, AND outshot Tampa... so I don't see how Tampa could've outplayed Calgary consistently -- especially when all three of their goals were messy, and Calgary's 2 were beautiful.

Misfortune is predicting an easy win for the Sharks, and have them eliminated in 6 games.

In my mind, it is. The goal was clearly in, so it was a 3-2 final for Calgary.

They pummelled Calgary so much that the commentator had to explain to fans why the score was tied if they only watched the last half of the second, and the start of the third. Yes, it is true that Calgary outplayed Tampa for about a period, but a period is different from the game.

I found myself cheering for Tampa because of how badly the Calgary PK squad performed. They passed so well, that it was just a matter of time before they scored.

Yes, Calgary had a pretty goal, but they also caught some breaks to tie the game.

His exact words were something like "I feel like I almost have to explain to people just joining us why the game is still tied". And actually, this was made during the second period, where Calgary was walking all over Tampa but not scoring.

Calgary shots on goal: 33
Tampa Bay shots on goal: 27

My math is fuzzy, which one of those numbers is higher?

Shouldn't the team that "consistently outplayed" the other team have more shots on goal?

Further, how can a team "consistently outplay" another if it had only 5 shots in the 2nd period, while Calgary had 13 -- and even numbers of shots in the 1st and 3rd.

In all fairness to Calgary, even our papers said Flames scored but ref didn't see it properly and that Flames should be the champs right now. Of course it doesn't have anyhthing to do with the fact that Tampa has 0 Finns and Flames has 3

5 shots ain't much to take home. They both played about the same if one relies upon shots for the hardworking team.

Not always. Depends on the quality of the chances. Anybody can shoot on net from way out on the hope that the shot bounces in.

I've cheered for Calgary consistently throughout the playoffs, as Canada's team, after the Canucks were eliminated. I cheered for them over Montreal and Toronto. I will be cheering for them tonight.

It doesn't stop me from tearing a strip off them for losing game 6.

Not a good period for the Flames; Iginla hasn't stepped it up and they can't get anything toward the slot area off the forecheck. If they don't stop with the defensive breakdowns, it's going to be 2-0 before long and that'll be all she wrote.

Need to get a goal on this power play and even it up early in the second. They couldn't convert on the PP in game 6 and it cost them; there's no more games to make up for failing to do it tonight.

EDIT: ****. 2-0. It's done. Tampa's playing such air-tight defence that there's no way Calgary's coming back.
