"Misfortune"? A team that was last in the division last year is in game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals, that's not misfortune.

Misfortune is predicting an easy win for the Sharks, and have them eliminated in 6 games.

oh, so the series is over now?
In my mind, it is. The goal was clearly in, so it was a 3-2 final for Calgary.

Game 7 is a tossup, and just determines the winner according to the NHL's ****ed up officiating.

Do you have an overhead angle to back that up? No?

      I see... then it's inconclusive, isn't it?

It was wedged under the pads...of course there's no overhead angle.

Using your logic, any goal obscured from overhead cameras by a goalie is inconclusive...

Look at the damn pic. There's no way that was NOT over the line. It was NOT in the air like originally thought, it's clearly wedged between the skates/pads and the ice, and you can also see ice on the all sides.

        It's not inconclusive.

        • TSN just said that Kerry Fraser will referee game 7.
          Oh the irony.

He who lives by the sword, dies by the sword. Kerry helped Calgary on their path, and now he could finish them.

          • Kerry did not help Calgary on their path. I have NO idea why you think he did...

It doesn't look "wedged" anywhere. From that angle it appears to be in. But not, apparently, from any other angle.

But feel free to keep using the "we're the real winners" clarion call of the homer.

That's because none of the other angles could see the puck.

Let's face it...it's in the NHL's best interests to have a game 7.

Want to explain to me how it's not wedged? It's clearly between the pads/skates and the ice, and last time I checked goalies cannot levitate, so to me that would constitute being wedged. Further, if he was in the air and the puck was deflected out, it would've come out at a different angle, not a lateral slide...

It was on the ice, it was behind the line, and the refs really can't be faulted for not seeing it, but the NHL makes a lot more money if they get an additional game out of a series.

A penalty against Vancouver on Jovo in game 7?

Yep, no help for Calgary from Kerry Fraser.

                  • lol Fraser.. He is known all the way here in Europe for his bad reffing.. I mean.. not even talking about this final series but here we have a ref that's just impossible to cooperate with in the rink. You never know how hard you can play because the other team might get a way with let's say slashing or tripping in your defensive zone and then you get the puck back and start moving up and someone slightly touches opponent, falls, interference out of the blue.

I mean.. you just never know. It's usually easy to read how you can play and first penalty is called for example and limit as how you can play.. but it's not consistent and that's what I think makes him simply a bad ref.

                    • and as for the Flames.. well.. looks like they have lots lots of games in home arena and stole lots of games in others home arenas so statistically speaking this shouldn't be that bad for the Flames. Of course it's another thing to win and another thing to win in your home arena..

Jovo getting a penalty?!?! He never gets penalties, that's so absurd!

Which penalty are you talking about? The one where he toppled Kipper?

                        • The one that had him sit out during OT, where Calgary just happened to score.

Jostling in front of the net for position. Nothing to do with Kipper.

What really happened? I don't recall there being any controversy over the call.

That's the one where he aggressively used his stick to push a Flame's back 3 times in a row?

Right. Jostling for position is now a penalty. There is no way you call Jovo for something that minor in the last few minutes when his team is losing.

Kerry Fraser started Calgary off, so it is only fair that he could end their run.

Give me a f*cking break. It was in regulation, not OT, and Jovo violently used his stick to try to push a Calgary defender down right infront of the net, right infront of the ref, not once...not twice...but three times. Of course he has to call that. There's no way he could say he didn't see it, and Calgary would be up in arms over such a blatant penalty not being called right infront of a ref.

Jovo was stupid, and you guys lost. You seem to forget Game 1, where the refs handed it to you on a silver platter.

Plus you're leaving out the convenient fact that you scored on that penalty kill, too.
