Iraque has anything to do with the war on terror.
- why is OBL mad at the USA? because they have troops in the holy land (SA)
- why were there troups in SA? To make sure that Sadam wouldn't try to attack on or another country
- *if* Sadam did indeed remove his WMD, he most obviously did it b/c of those troops
- but since these troops really really made much muslims unhappy, something must happen. Either Sadam should prove that he was to be trusted, so the troops could go home, or he should be gone.

A didn't work, and wouldn't work in any time in any year soon, thus B must happen.
Sadam must be removed. Pherhaps he had no WMD indeed, but who dares to take the risk to leave someone has lunatic as Sadam in a country that might have WMD?

Sadam is the only one who USED WMD in recent history!
NK didn't, Libya didn't, Iran didn't.......... only Sadam used weapons.
And he didn't use them for a long time, because of the american troops in SA.
And those troops were causing 9/11.

Cybershy: In case you haven't found out all ready, Sarin only lasts for five years. It can hardly have been some from Saddam's old stock.

I can say much more about this, but I think it's better to wait before we know more. Pherhaps it wasn't sarin at all, and my words are old before they left my mouth.

Thoses who rigged it as a roadside bomb were no doubt unaware that the sarin is unmixed in the 155mm shell, and that the forces of acceleration applied to it when fired and gurring flight mixed the agent. Thus when exploaded on the forund without havinf been fired, much of the two components are dispersed with only limited mixing and reaction together.

Yes, I agree that it's probably best to shut up until we get some solid information. Perhaps the alleged sarin gas was just something that came out of a McDonald's Happy Meal. Allah knows, that would scare the **** out of me as well.

Question: Could unmixed sarin in a shell work even after five years? I'm not good at chemistry, so I have to trust whatever information the news gives me. And we all know how wrong they usually are at the start.

A majority of the CW casualties at Halabja had symptoms consistent with exposure to CW agents known to be in Iranian arsenals, but not in Iraqi arsenals. The DIA concluded both sides used CW agents in attacks and counterattacks at Halabja, and for a number of reasons, a majority of casualties were caused by Iranian CW agents. It wasn't that big of a deal because (a) we already hated them, and (b) we didn't need more stuff to demonize the Ayatollahs, we needed stuff to demonize Saddam.

It depends on storage procedures, etc., but given experience with Iraqi handling of CW munitions up to the first Gulf War, it is extremely likely that there would be seriously degraded performance and much lower dosage and lethal potential than if the shells and CW agents were properly treated and stored.

You still wouldn't want to play games with it or be around it, but the area of effect and LD50 exposure zones would be much smaller.

well, kim jong il is quite sane. he knows what he's doing. what i think it was is that iraq is flat. nkorea is not.

i do know nkorea has blown up a skorean passenger plane, it's assassinated an entire skorean cabinet, it's tried to wreak a bit of havoc in skorea, it's trained other countries' terrorists...

It's funny how sarin is always labelled the 'Nazi' Gas. The far more potent VX nerve gas was invented by Britain. But we never hear about that, do we?

i've never heard of sarin as "nazi" gas. i always thought that was hcn/hydrogen cyanide/zyklon b. sarin i've heard as agent gb. besides, although sarin is somewhat difficult to manufacture, one can still do it, as evidenced by aum shinrikyo/aleph. however, vx is many orders of magnitude more difficult to manufacture.
