    Actually, yes.

Please. New Wave takes more from disco than it does The Clash.

    From the All Music Guide

During the late '70s and early '80s, New Wave was a catch-all term for the music that directly followed punk rock; often, the term encompassed punk itself, as well. In retrospect, it's became clear that the music that followed punk could be divided, more or less, into two categories -- post-punk and new wave. Where post-punk was arty, difficult, and challenging, new wave was pop music, pure and simple. It retained the fresh vigor and irreverence of punk music, as well as a fascination with electronics, style, and art.

Ah yes, more of the 'punk is an attitude' crap . By that definition Merle Haggard was a punk artist. Wooo!

Not at all. If irreverance and disdain for authority = punk, then Haggard fits. Just showing the whole 'attitude' definition is ridiculous.

Imran, you just have to face it that your political ideology is deeply uncool.

                    It.

If I have to tell you, you aren't punk.

Then like I said, disdain for authority (do it yourself when told to do something). I was trying to ask what in do it yourself contradicts what I said about it.

DIY isn't what you tell someone else, its what you do when you want something.

So you are saying that punks are really Libertarians?

Good, so you admit that we win . There ain't a man cooler than Eastwood, and that's just among the living. I mean, if I wanted to blow you out of the water, I'd expand my side (to include conservatives) and say we got John Wayne [The Duke], to which there is NO coolness comeback. Just listen to Dennis Leary's "The ******* Song".
