Southern America I'm not sure about either, but they could be closer to an American left/right scale. Whether you look at parties in those countries, or use a measure such as the political compass, or suchlike, the Dems would come out as Centre-Right.

China isn't leftist. China is just authoritarian, though leaning capitalist. Similarly, does Russia actually have nationalized healthcare, etc? You've also forgotten about countries like Iran and Pakistan, which definately balance out Europe

        Totally depends on the test

A top 2% mark in any of these frequently used tests below qualifies you for entry to Mensa. The minimum test mark to get into Mensa is:
        Cattell B - 148
        Culture Fair - 132
        Ravens Advanced Matrices - 135
        Ravens Standard Matrices - 131
        Wechsler Scales - 132

          IQ measures education.

Only partly. The education required for an IQ test is pretty basic. There are also general knowlege and language components.

I have higher IQ than some people who have a higher level of education than me.

Basically the IQ test tests how good you are at doing IQ tests.

Dingy? Bah. Some of the crappier parts of the cities, sure, but most of the state is very nice.

Rudeness I don't think I'll argue. Southerners generally think Northerners are rude. So even if we're not rude by Yankee standards, we are probably still rude to you.

It was a jest, but on a more serious note before I moved from North to South, I had to travel to our Corporate HQ a bit and unfortunately that meant a ride into CT. Danbury, Waterbury and Hartford are by no means garden spots.

Being a northerner, I wasn't fazed by the rudeness moreso the general disrepair and high cost of living. Lots of empty post-industrial towns IIRC.

All in all fairly typical of the northeast. I guess I don't see the allure of limitted employment possibilities and high cost of living that I once did.

I don't see how this is conclusive exactly. A higher IQ doesn't necessarily mean better judgment. Neville Chamberlain's IQ was probably well above 100, if it comes to that...

No real argument there, except that downtown Hartford (which is maybe the equivalent to a couple of blocks in NYC) is actually quite nice. The rest of the city ranges from crappy to downright godawful, though, so I guess it balances out.

Yeah, but I grew up in Georgia and had never encounted such flagrant racism in an openly public place.

Dingy: Bridgeport, New Haven, Hartford, the entire I-95 corridor except the parts near NY. Nice: Stamford, Greenwich.

Fair 'nough. Reality is that Yankees can be just as racist as anyone.

                                Bridgeport - check
New Haven - check (missed that one in my original disclaimer)
Hartford - mostly check. Some redeeming qualities.
Stamford - like Hartford. It's got its good side and its bad side.

Greenwich, like just about all of the towns in Fairfield County, is very nice. Darien is too, you know, outside of the bits that line the Post Road (Rte1). The whole county is basically NYC's bedroom.
