About as much as a wooden nickle.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

100 roubles a piece. No clue with todays value. They cost me ~1 US dollar apiece.

But the coupon would have accrued to a nice amount

That's an awful lot of swampland, Che. We just had a big dustup in Alabaster, where they did exactly what the bill proposes allowing, on behalf of Wal-Mart, and got away with it. Phugging disgusting.

While it's obviously a joke, I am surprised daily with new revelations about the coruption of our officials. And no one does anything about it. It's just part of life in Florida.

Give it back to Russia, in exchange for the Kuriles.

I grew up about 15 minutes from the Alabama-Florida line and about an hour from Tallahassee, so I know exactly what you mean. And oops on forgetting the joke-acknowledging smiley.

It's Japan's gold. If Russia wants it, they should give Japan something.

But it isn't Japan's gold. It can be traced to being stolen from the country and placed in accounts from anti-Bolsheviks. From all indications it seems the whites just send the gold to Japan for storage, which is why it hasn't been spent.

If the people on the island are japanese then would'nt the island be a japanese island. hmn. So why would Russia have to give control of the island and the people back to japan.

Simply because the people on the island are of Japanese ancestry means jack****. Russia has ownership of the islands so they are Russian islands. Enough said.

Maybe the Russians shouldn't have gone an killed their Czar in the first place. In my mind, it's fair game.

So because Russia changed its government, its fair game to steal the gold?

Its Russias gold, and unless you want Putin to be President over Russia for the next dozen or so years....It'd be wise to help improve the Russian economy
