Canucks are just about the best road team in the league.
Come on, there's no difference between being on the road and playing at home these days, particularly for these teams.
Canucks had 22 wins on the road vs 21 for the Flames
The Flames and Canucks both had 21 wins at home.
Montreal just gave them a good hard kick in their complacency .
I for one didn't expect that -- like the Bruins, I thought the Habs were broken after that game 4 loss, but instead they bounced after hitting bottom. Koivu, Perreault, Zednik all got goal-scoring monkeys off their backs, Kovalev got the game-winner, and finally Theodore put in a rock-solid performance. If he'd been on his game at all from the start of this series, that would probably have been the clincher in a 4-1 Montreal series win.
Boston just unravelled as the game wore on -- Thornton's stupid penalties were symptomatic of a team that didn't expect Montreal to put up a fight, then got increasingly frustrated by the unexpected resistance.
If the Bruins heed the wake-up call, game 6 should be the best of the series. If they don't, they could be in a world of trouble.

Calgary --- good effort again-- Although outshot, they played good team defence and Kiprisoff did his expected magic. Vancouver can hardly blame their goaltender .. . The goals were tough to stop plus you don't win many if all you score is one goal.
Calgary has confidence and while I doubt a cup run is likely, I can see them taking out Vancouver in game 6.

I don't know what game you guys were watching, but Vancouver played like crap. When the Canucks are firing on all cylinders, they totally outclass Calgary. The problem is, for the last 2 and a half games, they've been playing way below their abilities. Sure they outshot the Flames, but most of the shots were crap scoring chances. And if you play like that in the playoffs, you deserve to lose (and I'm a huge Canucks fan).

I was watching the same one as you. My only problem is that you don't give Calgary any credit for the fact that the Canucks are not "firing on all cylinders". Often when a team "doesn't play well" its because their opponent were there in their face.

Oh, I'll certainly give Calgary some credit - they were playing well. But it wasn't Calgary's fault that no Canuck seemed to ever even try to get to the net and create some traffic, or that when opportunities presented themselves to make some plays, the Canucks didn't even bother trying.

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois (Ticker) - St. Louis Blues centre Mike Danton was arrested Friday morning and charged with participating in an alleged murder-for-hire plot.
In a statement, the FBI said Danton was apprehended in San Jose, where the Blues were eliminated Thursday night from the Western Conference quarterfinals by the Sharks.
Danton's arrest came one day after an alleged accomplice, 19-year-old Katie Wolfmeyer of Florissant, Missouri, was taken into custody in Brentwood, Missouri.
According to U.S. Attorney Ronald J. Tenpas of the Central District of Illinois, Danton and Wolfmeyer conspired to hire someone to kill an acquaintance with whom Danton quarreled Tuesday night.
The criminal complaint said the argument involved "promiscuity and use of alcohol" by Danton, who "begged the acquaintance not to go to (Blues general manager Larry Pleau) ... and ruin his career."
Wolfmeyer allegedly assisted Danton in finding a prospective killer. That unidentified person cooperated with the FBI, whose agents taped incriminating telephone calls, authorities said. No one was injured.
Each count carries a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine up to $250,000.
Danton, 23, had seven goals, five assists and a team-leading 141 penalty minutes in 68 games in his first full NHL season.
A native of Brampton, Ontario, Danton was suspended during the 2001-02 season by New Jersey Devils general manager Lou Lamoriello for failing to report to the minor leagues. Danton sat out most of the previous season following a disagreement over a medical diagnosis.
A 2000 fifth-round draft pick, Danton legally changed his name from Mike Jefferson.

OOh, a post from the head sports writer of the StL Post dispatch on another forum, Bernie Miklasz:
This is a bizarre story, and when some of the details come out, there is no doubt in my mind it will become one of the biggest sports-related crime stories that has materialized in many years.
I can't divulge more at this time. Sorry.
Cheers,

I think that's a bit of hyperbole, as surely its not as big as the current JAson Williams trial where someone actually died?
