Oerdin, you are professional soldier so I wouldn't try to be so arrogant as to tell you what to do, but I read this interesting story that happened there in Iraq. I believe it was some PMC guy.

They were doing something, few soldiers, and they found themselves being observed by what seemed to be a suspicious group of people. You know how it goes, whispers, quick looks and all that. Then two young guys came on with tough looks on their faces, with obvious intent to start some **** with the soldiers. The soldier thought quickly that there is a chance of them getting lynched right there and he decided to shoot the boys. He pointed the gun at the other one and put the safety off, ready to fire. The guys stopped and looked at each other for a while and turned back, and slowly afterwards the group started braking up and going other directions.

What I mean is be careful about some of these situations where you might be lonely even though you could call back up in few minutes. You never know, if you sense that there's some crap talking going on and they're gathering courage, get the hell out or if you have no chance, shoot the first guy coming at you if they don't stop for warnings.

I'm not saying to go rambo there, just reminding that don't get too comfortable when you go outside the base.. I'm not suggesting to be super paranoid and slap kids around and kick dogs, just that .. well we have a saying in here that goes "Be Humble - Too Much Confidense Kills". I think that sums it up. Be careful man.

I'm against this war, so it would be kinda embarrasing to wear such a t-shirt. But I do support the troops.

Iraqis still have very slow access to the internet but before they had no access so they think of things as better then before. At least as far as the net is concerned.

I'm using a military satalite connection to access the net so you can think of my spamming on poly as your tax dollars at work.

(Seriously the military provides it as a way to improve morale)

Very Thankful that you were unhurt in the attack. Keep up the good work. You and your fellow soldiers are the only hope that the Iraqi people have of ever becoming truly free IMHO. If you are successful, then your work will be remembered for generations. Thanks again!
