However, the time difference between the Concorde and a normal jet airliner is a LOT smaller than the time difference between a normal jet airliner and a ship.

Dude, the time diference between Concorde and 757 is not comparable to the time difference between 757 and passenger liner.

I'd never pay an extra 1000$ to get on the Concorde; I would pay an extra 1000$ to get on an aircraft (rather than a boat).

being a democracy we took a poll and asked ppl if they wanted to:

            A)buy their own car
B)give the gov't money so they can all take the same train

for some bizzarre reason they picked A. I'm investigating this anomaly as we speak tho.

Brilliant!!! The irony of course being that we still don't travel any faster then a 100 years ago.

Trains are a completely impractical form of transportation for America.

No they aren't, especially along the Eastern seaboard.

That's about the only place. Maybe California too, but that's it.

but if ur in an escalade its all good.

also I fail to see how thats an irony.

Will you feel safer if an Air France plane flies over the US with French Marshalls in it?
                        No.
i hope this isn't serious... i personally think it's taking the current unhipness of being french in america a bit too far.

actually, we do. that's mostly a function of the eisenhower interstate system, though.

being a democracy we took a poll and asked ppl if they wanted to:

                        A)buy their own car

as for this, it only goes to show that peopple don't often vote in their own best interest. driving around in atlanta hammers that point home.

as for rail being a useful sort of transport in america. fat chance. but that's mostly 'cause air travel is so easy and comparatively cheap in america that people would either drive or fly.

I'm dead serious. The French are the Koreans of Europe and I wouldn't trust them for a second because of it...

why? when you think about it:
ireland and korea both brutally oppressed by an island neighbor for centuries.
ireland and korea both are homes to people quite proud of their heritage.
ireland and korea are both split into two pieces which don't much like each others' governments, but they like the people on the other side.
ireland is known as the 'celtic tiger' in some economic circles; korea is one of the 'asian tigers'.
irish people have tempers. so do koreans.
irish people don't wish they were anyone else; koreans don't either.

belgians secretly wish they were dutch. the french secretly wish they were german.
                                B♭3
