I am not sure what he said and the facts are inconsistent. Just receiving money that is owe is not a true "connection."

The stock issue in a subsidiary, though, is interesting.

The comment does not question Osmama's guilt- it states that the US system is such that even Osama (ie, someone as evil as him) must be in a legal sense given the assumption of innocence until tried and convincted. That is what we are fighting Osama to protect- and if most people in the US are willing to ignore our core values for revenge, well, then damn most people! American values of freedom trancend the opinions of the temporary public, and anyone lected to office swears an oath to the consitution, not public opinion.

In regards to OBL's trial, yes he would get one, no doubt about it. However, most Americans would demand that he get tried in a court where the Death Penalty is a option, and they would not support a candidate who doesn't care what sort of punishment OBL gets. Dean stated that it doesn't matter to him who tries OBL, but it matters a lot to us.

Don't use "us" unless you state who "us" is- I would fall under that "us"-personally I would prefer him to be tried in a US court, and I do not care if he gets the death penalty or not.

Again, it's all about getting elected. If Dean is playing to people who don't and can't vote, that's his stupidity. Why should he care if the Europeans (or whomever) think he's more "diplomatic" than Bush - they don't vote.

Dean, like Bush, has a speech impediment- Bushes is misuse of vocabulary, or makes it up- Dean's is wording phrases akwardly.

As for Dean's electability, has has raised twice more than his nearest Dem rival and as I said, 35% of an incumbet president who spends a hell of a lot at $1000 a plate dinners ( I would bet the average size of a donation to Dean is less than half what they are to Bush). If the other Dem's can't even get votes from Dems, what the hell are they going to do at the general level?

On the Wellstone memorial: I read that section of Franken's book- and the fact is he presents a far better aco**** of what occured, having been there, than most rporters, who WERE NOT THERE.

I challenge people to read that section of Franken's book and find a problem with his aco****. It would be nice is tapes of the entire event could be found- which would go a long way to disprove the distortion- but of course, things like that make less compelling news than some guy screaming about what they saw on TV...
