I was a teen in 80s/90s, just in time for AIDS and not soon enough for the teens to stop caring... you want to feel sorry for someone, feel sorry for us gen. X-ers who didn't get to grow up in a sex filled world.

I graduated high school in '73.
If I have my facts correct, that was the only class in the history of mankind that had their act together.

        Missed this part:

Vivienne Nathanson, the BMA's Head of Science and Ethics said: "Young people in Britain are increasingly likely to be overweight, indulge in binge drinking, have a sexually transmitted infection and suffer mental health problems.

You need a study to figure out this one?

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

We're only including the 20th century here.

Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.
                -Richard Dawkins

why should we let these brats drink themselves into a stupur and vomit on our streets?

The whole generating is a waste of time, i say, take everybody between the ages of 4 and 40 (which includes me) and shoot the lot.

Binge drinking isn't exactly a new phenomenon.

(though maybe it happens more often now)

Yea well I did all that stuff when I was a teen, smoking, pot everyday, 20 beers a week at least and I feel great. I can still jog 20 minutes non-stop, I'm not overweight. Must be because I always used a condom. God knows I needed those.

Though as a sport binge drinking has taken a turn for the worse since the kids have started taking "performance enhancers" prior to competition. Such an act is a crime, and should be cracked down on.

well, stupid people dying early is always a good thing... if enough people die, the world may not need a nuclear war to cut the fat off.

This kind of research is utterly useless. Anyone with some sense would know that what teens are doing (and not only teens) isn't really smart. Besides, can you imagine anyone from these people actually changing their lifestyle cause of this?

Common sense usually is waaaaaaaay ahead of science.
