  • christianity and communism are fundamentally opposed.

I know, this is random, but i was thinking (surprising as it may be) that Christianity and Communism are inherently at odds.

I think it is probably safe to say that the foundation of christian virtues is in the 10 commandments.

one of the commandments is "Thou shalt not steal"

Of course, without property, there can be no theft, and in communism, there is no property.

So, hypothetically speaking of course, let's assume there is a God, and God is as described in the Christian tradition. If there is God, and he is enduring, he would want his doctrine to be enduring, and transcendant of time and social change. If this is true, and God is all knowing, the it follows that Communism is practically impossible, now and in the future, otherwise the commandment would not be worded as it is.

sorry to ramble, i'll run away now...

"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

Isn't it bad enough that I gave Che a hard time with my own similar thread a couple of months ago?

But there is property under communism, it was just stolen.

Probably because I was responding to Ramo's comment.

when i was refering to communism, i was refering to true communism, not the poor attempts at it reflected in the "real world"

The workers of Dell (how apropos Kaak is here ). As they ought to own the means of production, Micheal Dell is using state power to enforce appropriation of the computers from his employees, and I thus bought unjustly confiscated goods. The same goes with my clothes as my wardrobe almost entirely consists of Dell propaganda.

Those employees agreed to make the computers and give them to Dell.

Only because the employees of Dell were forced to do so (or for a similar capitalist organization).

I've always felt that libertarians and commies are cra . . .

                            er, different.

Anyway, when I created that thread, it got Che's panties all bunched up -- it was only similar, in that I was poking fun at the communist pipe dream.
