In the US, I'm sure that MADD and religious funadmentalism has something to do with it.

Because not everyone is ready to go to Hell like you, Monk.

Walking and drinking isn't that sure a bet, David.
Were you an honest man, you'd own up to that fact.

          Sloww, huh?

Are you trying to say that it's legal to walk down the street drinking a beer? Because AFAIK, it isn't.

Technically, the age limit is a state law, too, but in any case, you'll notice that I specified "In Texas...".

                Sloww,

Your warning has made me a new man. When I go to the party next Saturday and we pass midnight, I'll make sure to hide all the beer when nobody's noticing, thereby saving the souls of my fellow partygoers. I'm sure that upon discovery, they will thank me for my kind act.

                  WTG, Monk. Good man.

And David, what I'm saying is walking while drinking can be hazardous; and I call on you to be honest and acknowledge that, through personal experience, you know that to be true.
                  Come on, come on.

That's just off the top of my head. And those are ridiculous restrictions, too.

Yeah, and so is skydiving. But we don't ban skydiving. In fact, skydiving is definitely more dangerous than drinking a beer while walking.

If I had only read quicker........

In San Antonio, they sell on Sundays, just not before 11 AM.

                        ACK!

Nuh-uh. Is not either. And if I thought/knew you to have a diving under the influence to own up to, I'd ask for that.
But I know dadgum well you've stumbled, staggered, and likely fallen while walking drunk.
                          Don't lie to me, David.

Who's talking about walking around drunk? That isn't illegal - I do it all the time, and so do hundreds of other people on 6th St here in Austin. Now, yes, if you do something stupid you'll probably get a PI citation, but if I'm drunk off my ass, and stumbling around, I'm not gonna get arrested unless I'm trying to drive.

I'm talking about walking down the sidewalk drinking a beer, which is illegal.

So you think there is a greater risk of serious injury if you are drinking a beer while walking than there is if you go skydiving?

                              Come on, that's just silly.

Sounds like a law designed to get rid of tramps and other undesirables.
