In any organization where the objective is to meet a team goal (which means pretty much any organization in existence), these behaviors are disruptive and very counterproductive to the organizations goals. Any organization that you care to join, be it church, school, work, family, civic, charity, whatever, requires a certain subsimation (is that a word - the past tense of subsume?) of self, a denial of individuality in order to acheive the organizations goals. A number of people here seem to be unable or unwilling to do this for a long period of time, and in my experience and judgement in reading your posts, you are definitely among that group.

Look I don't normally have problems in jobs... I am good with customers, I sale sale sale, meet the bottom line... I have a good work ethic... just because I despise people in general doesn't mean I show that when I'm being paid not to. I have a bit of a temper, that is my biggest problem.

Surrender? Never. NC is a Southern state on the cusp of progressivism. It has seen the largest influx of left-leaning voters in the South. The more and more of these folks who relocate there, the more things will start to change.

This right, thorn? I always thought 'say things to shock' was an old wives tale used to discriminate against those who won't have their individual thought resisted by the masses.

I'll assume that by 'Irrational' you mean his thoughts aren't based on correct logic (though this term is mudslinged at the impractical/ideological and the emotional as well).

Erg? It is only ever individual people that have goals. Sometimes they have similar goals in that a set of people (a 'team') may have a similar goal - I guess this is what you mean.

The latter is not 'joined' as IIRC family comes with being born.
The former is an educational institution. Students are not obliged to work towards the school's goals, save for proving their understanding of the curriculum.

Subsumption. And by definition the particular is subsumed into the universal.
If I understand the word, you claim that the individual is absorbed by the company, that the individual is a subset of the company?
Most individualists (Myself included) would believe that loss of self is not required to be part of a group, nor is it required to be productive.

Take a look at the Democracy Games being played. You'll see we're expressing ourselves through our work - not supressing ourselves for our work.

This is false. Individual choice does not need to be supressed to be part of a group it merely needs to incorporate the group.
Note that most people will change their individual goals for the sake of the group, but there is no denial of self because the self has changed.

I'm not of the 'Change self for others' clan, and remind you that Individualists are a nescesary part of human society, because SOMEBODY has to be the think-tank.
You'll find that many Organisations have place for individualists, for the reasons described above. We're better brainstormers.

I was talking with my BF about what to do and he suggests that I try to be discreet when I talk to the manager, via phone he suggests.

But, I have a real problem with dealing with people when I am upset (The day I got fired my parents starting *****ing at me I got mad a broke a cabinet door by slamming it [its a new house] a flung it to the floor)... also my calm way of talking to people when I'm calm scares the **** out of people, it is sorta like talking to an irritated Al Capone.

Being that you could probably guess this about me if you saw a picture of me normally its a wonder that they gave me a job at all, I got rejected from 3 other places.

I have good skills, and customers love me, in fact I have never had a customer been rude to me (rude to other people I worked with odd eh??)... I look like I am enjoying myself at work (ie happy somewhat), and I think I actually do, at least until I get out of the parking lot and remember what ****hole this world is.

Anyone have any advice, preferably a script that I can stick to?
