I thought Georgia was turning things around for the better. This isn't good to see.I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

'Washington's State Department has called for calm in "reaching a compromise solution acceptable to all and in the interest of Georgia." '
Thats a great way to stall while they find Georgia on the map for Bush and explain to him its history."Everything for the State, nothing against the State, nothing outside the State" - Benito Mussolini

I remember a tv program about Georgia and one of its citizens claiming that it had two great sons in past century; Stalin and Shevarnadze"I realise I hold the key to freedom,
I cannot let my life be ruled by threads" The Web Frogs

CNN had portrayed this as a bloodless revolution -- but will it actually bring about a more equitable democracy??
I guess time will tell -- unless the current government decides to use military brute force to begin the bloodshed.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.

Will no one sing "the devil went down to georgia" right now?
The people wanted Shevarnadze gone, and it's nice to see bloodshed was averted. If you don't like reality, change it! me

To Bush and all the warmongers out there: Democracy and freedom can be realised without violence.
Because this kind of thing happens often?“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
