Oh my, that was a cold, cold 5 hours.
The last period of the Regular Season game warmed me up though, because it was a lot more exciting.
I enjoyed the Alumni game, even if I didn't get to see a magnificent Gretzplay. Fuhr's & Ranford's stellar goaltending made up for it, and then some. (Did you see Fuhr's glove save on Richer? DAYUM.)
Anyway, it was a great experience. Extremely cold, but nothing a few trips to the heated bathrooms couldn't fix.
I think the coolest thing about it was just the communal feeling of the whole mass exodus towards the game, and within the game itself. There's nothing like high-fiving people you've never met before when the Oilers score a big one, or walking with a large group of fans in Oilers jerseys down Jasper Ave. as cars honk in appreciation. Ah, good times.
