Ok, I had many. Because I went to a private school where teachers are all french, and I mean French from France not from Canada. They got some odd personnalities. One teacher used to throw his shoe at students who wouldn't stop talking, throw his chalk also. A math teacher used to wear bodysuits to class (VOMIT) and I think he was gay. He beat up some student that stood up to him this one time. Ummmm.....to many cases to list for me....

I had a teacher who refused to answer any questions during office hours. It was a Ochem lab, I got a D, and decided not to retake it because he was the only one who taught it.

I also once had a prof who thought she was reincarnated from a spider, she told ppl this and even believed that it gave her powers.

        The were both wack jobs.

I dont have any loony teachers, but becuase I live in such a small town/large village the teahcers are like friends with the students. One of the PE teachers is 6' something (really tall) and weighs well over 200 pounds, he's all muscle. He likes to pick on one of the kids thats built for his age, he'll pick him up in one arm and start walking or he'll lift him off the ground and pin him to a wall, its hilarious. One of the physical science teachers is also the wrestling coach, he'll put kids in head locks and talk to them about getting caught up in class or about wrestling. I also had a teacher last year that would throw the dry-erase markers at the girls that talked to much (she always missed and hit someone else)

Yes. My 7th & 8th grade art teacher. She threatened to claw my eyes out once, accused me of playing footsie with my lab partner (a guy) and generaly ranted at me for no good reason. Up to that point in my life, art was one of my absolutely favortie subjects. I didn't take another art class for about seven years, and never considered it seriously again.

How Ironic that my career now revolves around art. I awals have thought if I ever won an art award, I would talk about Mrs. Freak (yes, her real name) as the teacher who almost ruined my life. She was the teacher that had the greatest impact on me up until college, all negative.

I frequently wonder how different things might have been had I taken any art/design in high school.

My junior high math teacher had flashbacks to Vietnam during class. He totally freaked out. When a pencil hit the ground, he thought it was a grenade. He had everybody hide under their desk because he thought VC were coming down the hallway.

He did a lot of other crazy stuff too, but after it all, I have to admit that he was a solid math teacher. I learned a lot in his class.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Weakling, us real teachers just cut out the middle man and throw the students

She wore spiky big red high heels and carried a golden coloured bag. She used to say "I suffered and you'll suffer too".

My 9th-grade computer teacher wasn't a lunatic but I'm convinced there was something seriously wrong with him. The first two-hour lesson consisted entirely of him teaching us how to switch the computer on and off... Slowly, methodically and pausing for questions, and if we did something else while he showed one of the slower people something he'd shout at us for not... well... I guess just sitting still and staring at our screens.

Lucky he was so easy to fool though.

I've had a few nuts. Not all bad, but definately of questionable mental state.

I mean, what teacher sanely jokes about his nickname, "Chester-chester the Child-molestor" in class?

I had one teacher who developed a personal vendetta against me. The irony is that I was one of her better students the year before. She had been known for deliberately hasselling her best students and lowering their grades so that they would have to write her final exam and then she would get a higher average for her class. She would often give her struggling students just enough so that they would not have to write.

Anyway, she picked me to be her 'mark' after I wanted top go on a field trip and miss about a week of class. I had good marks, and I offered to do the work ahead of time. She said no, I went to the principal and she then tried to make that term for me as awful as possible.

She used to punish the kids by making them stay an hour after school if they left something in their locker.

Anyway, I kept doing well on her exams which were not subjective, she was a French teacher, so she had to really lower all of my writing scores. By the end of the term to give me 0.1 % percent below the level to which I would not have to write the exam, she cobbled a mark sheet that made our big exam of the term worth 1% of my term mark, and these little writing assignments worth more than half. My principal compared the maksheet with the other students and found that it was not even close.

I had no idea what was going on at the time, so I was really concerned about why my mark seemd to drop so low. She even gave me a failure mark for my workhabits which would prevent me from getting an 800$ scholarship when I graduated.

After I did graduate, I had an odd temptation to send her my transcript which showed that I completed an honours French course, the hardest program that I could do in my hometown. She predicted I would fail and enjoyed telling me this as often as possible.
