    I am 41-50 (at least, maybe 51-60)

    fairly small I know

I was sort of surprised at the number of books where I was like, oh, I did I read that or only intend to read that?

I always forget books that I read, often when I return from the library there are at least one or two books that I have already read and that I forgot about

About 100 for sure, but there's another ten or twenty I might have read but didn't like enough to buy.

            Three, I think.

edit: Upon closer inspection, I have read four books on that list. I'm so geeky...

                  You missed a lot. I mean, you didn't even have Arthur C. Clarke's 2001: A Space Odyssey!!

I can only surmise that you are after seriously hard-core sci-fi fans. I have read more than a dozen sci-fi books, mostly of note, and yet the only books i heave read in that list are by H.G. Wells!

I must say that the more hard-core sci-fi stuff i have read seems to be designed purely for the enjoyment of hard-core nerds. I don't get the point of going out of your way to make sci-fi inaccessible to the average person. It may be an exclusive club, but its a club exclusive to anyone but nerds! What's the fun in that??

                        Good list.

I've read about 40, but I have also read most of Heinlein, Asimov, and Arthur C. Clarke at one point in time.

I don't think I've read any good science fiction over the last 3 years. Much more historical fiction.

these are just the classics of the classics or something like that

I have read many other 'classics' that didn't make the list
