Another Hollywood historical travesty

on The Passion, Gibson is a member of a radical catholic sect, the sort that no longer recognize the papacy cause of Vatican II, and this movie is his grand Cristian opus: first of all, it is all in Aramaic (it should acutally be part in Greek, cause that is what many Romans and jews spoke, but anyway) with english subtitles (at first it had NO subtitles) and is supposed to be very naturalistic.

It has not been shown to most regular movie critics, though he ahs held lots of screenings with evangelical audiences and they just love it.

Of course, someone could always make a film about how the inbred slave owning hypocrites across the water had to rely on Native Americans, a German, the Spanish and the French! Good grief, the French! to pull their fat out of the fire during their war of land grabbing and taxation evasion.

But in the present climate I doubt such a cinema verite approach would go down too well.....

Although having said that, I am enjoying the 'Rebels and Redcoats' series currently screening on ABC.

Type "The Few" and "Tom Cruise" into Google. I see 'fact-based drama', 'historical biopic' and 'true story'. Some of the websites have evidently already bought into the lies.
