  • A quick summary of the current state of affairs in the Big 12...

What it means is Texas beat Kansas State which lost to Oklahoma State which lost to Nebraska which lost to Missouri which lost to Kansas which lost to Colorado which lost to Baylor. With games at Texas, Kansas and Colorado left, and K-State suddenly feeling new life, anything can happen. And probably will.

    • Meanwhile, there are seven ranked Big Ten teams, all with at least five wins. Needless to say, this is two more than any other conference.

So put a sock in all the "Big Ten sucks" stuff.

Anyway, six of those teams face off in three games this weekend... oughta be fun.

No ****. The Big Ten is always overrated, which is why most people hate them. There's no way in hell the Big Ten deserves to have the most teams in the Top 25; the SEC and Big 12 both have a better group of teams this year.

All Big Ten teams are overrated. Merely creations of the national media. Put anyone of them in the SEC and you would have a midlevel team.
So if we put the worst Big Ten team in the SEC, it would be a midlevel team? That sounds about right.

I wish they were in the SEC, we might see a few good games that way. One thing that both the Big Ten and the SEC have going for them is that the conferences are competitive. Not so the Big Twelve, which year in and year out puts out one of the dullest products in the country, despite having perennial contenders in Oklahoma and Nebraska.

I'm usually in agreement with you, Sikander, but I can't support you on this one. The Big 12 is the wildest conference in college football right now, extremely competitive and a hell of a lot of fun to watch. The improvement of teams like Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Missouri and now even Kansas is making things interesting.

Obviously you don't follow college football. The Big 12 is one of if not THE most competitive conference in college football. This year is definitely a fluke as they don't seem on par with their normal skill level.

Take the season OU won the national championship a few years ago. OU upset #3 Texas (both Big 12 members) the following week OU upset #2 Kansas State (both Big12 members) and the next week OU beat #1 Nebraska (once again both Big12 members)

Oh yeah, real boring conference. Its a shame none of the Big12 members other that OU or Nebraska ever make it to the Big 12 championship. Wonder what would happen if Texas ever won a national championship..........

              oh wait, they have.

What is really looking interesting is this new ACC their building, I wouldn't mind ditching the BCS with a bowl game between the ACC and Big 12 champions.

Right now I'm thinking Huskers vs Sooners in the Big 12 championship, the Nebraska/K-State game is the clincher for the north. OU might lose to OSU or Texas Tech if they get too cocky or if White gets injured but I don't see either happening right now.

I just got back from the OU-Texas game (much partying afterwards ) so I am a little pumped up right now. I will probably be more rational towards the end of the week......

I'm hoping OU and Miami will be in the Sugar Bowl, but with college football you never can be absolutely sure. Could be V-Tech instead of Miami.

The new ACC is going to be awesome. Should compete with the SEC and Big 12 in quality and drop the Big Ten down into fourth place amongst the major conferences.

So wait, since the Big 12 has THREE great teams that shows how competitive it is? The Big 12 may indeed by competitive, but using this example to prove it is just silly.

And, of course, KState is ALWAYS overrated. They play patsies on their schedule, year in and year out, and put up a ton of points on 'em, making KState look better than it actually is.

                      • Don't the SEC and Big 12 play a weak out of conference schedule?

                          • TCO speaks the truth... the SEC is king if you look at up and down competitiveness.

And all this EAST COAST bias . The Pac-10 is very, very competitive as well.

Big 12 and Big 10 are good conferences but mostly top heavy. The ACC will join that list (top heavy super-conferences).

                              K-State? their season is over.

Neb. They can come back from that slap down this weekend, but Kstate is finished.
