  • Hell, I don't have anything against Lee Corso, it's his vow, not mine. I just want my DAWGS to win, and as far as Lee is concerned, well, when you gotta go, you gotta go.

      • There would be no weeping in Big Orange Country for Corso...maybe he will take Herbstreet with him. Both banished forever to a trailer park anywhere in the South by the football Gods (which we all know live somewhere in SEC Country). There northern mission to discredit Southern football in favor of the Big Ten Fakers makes them deserve the fate Corso promised.

          • As for BCS... here's the best-case scenario for we BCS haters.

            1) Oklahoma and the Miami-Va Tech winner both lose a game. Very possible.

            2) In the ensuing chaos of multiple one-loss teams, a Big 12 or SEC team that didn't even play in the conference championship somehow backs its way into the Sugar Bowl, like Nebraska a couple years ago.

            3) Meanwhile, both Northern Illinois and TCU play out the string and finish as the only undefeated teams in Div I-A.

The very thought of this situation warms every part of my blackened, dead heart... Granted, not very likely, but possible nonetheless.

I could not believe my eyes when I saw that.

Penalized? Hell. That ******* ought to be brought up on assault charges.

The Huskers still have a better record than the Wolverines.

With a lot less talent, I might add.

                • We'll see who has the better record come January. I'm fairly confident Michigan would be undefeated if they had played Nebraska's schedule to date.

I don't see why you would say this, besides an obvious pro-Michigan bias. Missouri is a hell of a lot better team than Oregon and is probably comparable to Iowa. Oklahoma State is no slouch either.

All Big Ten teams are overrated. Merely creations of the national media. Put anyone of them in the SEC and you would have a midlevel team.

Nebraska, on the other hand, traditionally pumps out outstanding linemen and controls lines of scrimmage. That is why they are in the hunt year after year. Fundamentals do count and Nebraska is among the best at that. Put them in the SEC and you would have a perennial contender.

I love SEC fans. They're the only fans in the country that are as knowledgable and passionate as Big 12 fans. I guess following good conferences does that to you...

I say it because, apart from Missouri, Nebraska has played their big games at home. Iowa and Oregon were on the road, where, frankly, we're mediocre. Maybe Missouri would beat us, maybe not. I'd put my money on the Wolverines, though. (I also would have put my money on the Huskers, for what its worth.)

I wouldn't have. I was worried about Missouri before the season started and, while the resurgence of the Blackshirts lifted my spirits a bit, I still wouldn't have been willing to put money on the Huskers. Wouldn't do it for the upcoming K-State and Texas games either. The Huskers will lose at least one more, possibly two.

It is a way of life here. The sports seasons are:

                              Football Season
                              Recruiting Season
                              Spring Practice (Including Spring game)
                              Summer workouts (informal, of course!)
                              Two-a-days
                              Football Season.

The Big Ten spends much of their time with that funny shaped ball(round) trying to throw it thru a hole. In Knoxville that is a girls game!
