Wow, I actually managed to pick Marshall over K State in my ESPN pickem. Now, if I just had better luck with all the other games...

If no one goes undefeated (which easily could happen), Michigan will win the national championship .

A big day in the MAC... the "lowly" conference knocked off 5 ranked teams... Maybe they should get the BC bid from the Big East after Miami leaves

All hail the MAC! What a day for the Mid-American Conference. Nearly knocked off Ohio State, too. (But, then again, who hasn't?)

I think they definitely went a long way today in exposing the sham that is the BCS.

As for Michigan... oy. I knew it was trouble when we were up 6-0, but had held the ball for one minute in the entire first quarter. I'm sure there will be whiners pointing at the Steve Breaston "incompletion" on the last drive, but there were tons of bad calls going both ways in this game. Michigan lost that game early, not late. They lost in on defense and on special teams, not on one bad call.

That said, football would be the perfect game if we could just make all officials perfect.

What if you had 22 officials in a press box, one watching each player, and they could call any infraction or close catch or whatever that happened with their specific guy? Sure, it would cost a billion dollars, but it would be heavenly.

Wait till the Big Ten season starts, we're trying instant replay this year so bad calls will be reversed. (I can think of several calls from the 2000 and 2001 games between Illinois and Michigan that would have been reversed )

As for the Illini... *sigh* I sat and watched that game from midfield. Our secondary just plain sucks, ISU showed that and Cal proved it. Cal had 250 yards through the air in the first half alone

Instant replay hasn't proved to be totally acurate in the Pros

The Illini just suck this year... If they keep turning the ball over, they aren't going to win.

I'm wondering if we'll beat a single Division 1 team this year

The Huskers are 4-0 and have the top-ranked defense in the country. That's more than I can say for "best in the nation" Michigan. Woot!

Yes... not much for Joe Public in Chicago to cheer for on the football field this year.

Every year it's the same thing--you Midwest and Easterners and Southerners are all in a lather about your teams, forcing the University of Oregon Fighting Ducks to smack you around a bit.
Nobody thought we had a chance unless we somehow controlled the ball (we did) and held up the run (oh, boy! did we!).
Considering UO had NEVER EVEN SCORED A POINT against Michigan before, it was huge.

And it was a really fun, great game full of crazy plays and strong play.

If you can, I suggest you watch the UO v. WSU game tomorrow at 12:30 Pacific...it should be a really hard fought game.
