Japher: I think you can attribute the power deregulation to higher costs... (although Davis might be responsible for that, I'm not sure...)
To us, it is the BEAST.

        I have a question.

As a voter (were I in California) would I be able to vote NO on the recall, but still validly vote for a successor in case the recall vote succeeds.

I think this is right. On election day I recall that a survey showed that Davis had a 63% disapproval rating - and still he won the election!

I have been a observer, but not a voter, in California elections for a number of years. I don't vote because Republicans continue to nominate completely unacceptable candidates, while the Democrats simply want to build their socialist paradises and kill business.

It would be tragedy if Bill Simon were again to run against Davis. The result would undoubtedly be the same. Davis, the most incompetent and corrupt governor is memory would be re-elected because the Republican was worse.

I suspect, however, that California could use a successful banker more right now, than it could use a successfull real estate developer.

based upon Ahnold's years of experience in politics.

I think the answer is yes. This is why the Democrats who want to retain or even get rid of Davis will have to vote for a Republican, Independent or a fringe party candidate because the Democrats will not have any candidate in the election. A little bizzare, IMHO.

I would not count on that. Just becasue a few democ-rat leader suggest a boycott does not means other democ-rats will listen to them. All it take is 65 signatures and $3,500 to get on the ballot.
