The continued stagnation is... the massive deficits are killing any hope of recovery. And it's sure nice to see Bush giving rich people welfare when 40 million Americans don't have health care, and 3 million have lost jobs.The economy now is not Bush junior's fault.

Assuming Bush knew about it (unlikely), what could he have done to keep it from bringing on a recession? It had ALREADY HAPPENED. In fact, it could be argued (not that I support this) that in witholding the information, he hoped to forstall it altogether. Which is all pretty much a moot point, as I doubt he knew about it.
