First one is a no, because no one knew back then, second one is a yes. We DO get an education over here...
Strange, you hadn't heard the term El Nino back then but knew what causes it and what it does to your weather? Then why should I have known the term back then? Oceanographers have only recently started figuring out it's cause while the effect is quite obvious to people living in the immediate region.

most interesting that more French people than Americans found the USA on the map.
I think even more interesting is that 98% of French could place Italy on the map, where as only 97% of Italians themselves could do it. Then again, such a slight difference is probably within the margin of error.

What was it you said about comprehensive reading?

We knew about El Niño but we didn't know what caused it..

19/20 I got the first question wrong. The stupidity of Americans is downright terrifying when you consider how powerful they are.

I asked if you had heard of the term back then or it's cause and effects and you said no to the first and yes to the second.
Now you say yes to the first and no to second... Reading comprehension improves when the message becomes unscrambled.

                  20/20.

the most disturbing thing for me actually, was that 9% of french people and 7% of germans didn't know the euro was the european currency.

What I meant is that kids in spain would obviously learn about El Nino in school, since it means "The boy" in Spanish, and they have to learn their language somewhere.
