      • Sounds to me, it is the governments way of doing what they want.

How do you run a democratic country, one where all the people think they are 100% free to do and say what they want? You make them ignorant! So in effect, the government is not democratic, and the general population are too ignorant/stupid to understand what *exactly* is going on with the world.

But, of course America does have it's rare geniuses, but the govt will make good use of them.

I do remember reading that most of America's highest ranked scientists (working on something or rather) are actually foriegn.

that is because many scientists around the world would gladly come to america to study/work... and the world is a much larger pool of people in which to get geniuses from than america. Its known as the american "brain drain". Poor India has lost some of their finest minds, first to Britain, and now to America

Canada is very diverse, but our scores differed noticeably from the U.K. and U.S.A. What's the deal, then?

            • I don't know much about Canada, but there is something about it which seperates it from America, not the obvious things, but something in essence.

I actually see England being closer to U.S.A than Canada is (not in terms of geographical location of course )

He knew the answer to 2 questions, and guessed correctly another 3. Ah well.

Some answers were truly horrifying. He thought that the US is in Canada, didnt know the difference between the US and America, thought that Nigeria is Argentina, that Italy is Spain and that the Kashmir conflict is between Israel and Egypt.

I know lots of people who would probably get rather lousy results. They're not dumb, they just don't care too much about what goes on in the world.
