Its a propaganda. Even if it is for a "just" cause. What they want is an effect and in order to get that effect they'll employ whatever strategy they can to maximize the effect desired. Truly unbiased, neutral and objective ad should run something like "Heres the negative side to smoking and here are some positive side to smoking and here are some misconceptions of smoking.. "
But I guess it turns out fairoverall, cause tabacco companies use propaganda of their own anyway, so it neutralizes it out.
When I used to smoke, I didnt give out my ciggies even if they asked. I totally didnt get the mentality of smokers developing a courtesy that almost made it mandatory to give out their expensively taxed ciggaretes whenever asked just as if it was some cheap ass stick of gum.
