They can try a war criminal and punish him justly, they should try Bush and the leaders of the counries that helped him.

at least we dont have some-one in the gov who's mother and father worked for the gestapo , ....

Even if true, this shouldn't matter, no one should be penalised for what his parents did or didn't do.

And btw; the latest here is that the Belgian gaverment will cave in. (however, I don't think the US goverment did it self a favour though. This very much looks like bullying and petty minded revenge to me and I'm sure many others)

I don't see the US's problem with this. I mean, I don't think Franks commited war crimes at all. Let these Belgian waffle-heads present enough evidence to even warrant an indictment. I doubt they have anything substantial. I disagree with Bush and his dumbass policies, but I think the US Armed Forces are some of the best in terms of human rights. Sure, there are some people that ***** and moan about the US and it's imperialism, but perhaps they've forgotten about Nazi Germany and what war crimes are. Iraqi soldiers get better treatment in US captivity than they did under Saddam's rule, so don't give me this war crimes BS.

Depends, for street violence/illegal protitution(basically slave-trade)/drugs/robbings/car-and home jacking etc.. the East-european mafia in much worse.(Especially the Albanian one though)

Then I'd be complaining for the Russians to clean up thier mafia rather than the Americans.

                  Especially the Albanian one though
and people wonder why the Serbs were trying to protect themselves. The KLA, and other Albanian elements are supported by Al Qaeda and other Arab terrorist elements and have an extensive organized crime effort. I will never understand NATO and the motivations of their anti-Serb smear campaign. I'm sure someone will respond with genocide accusations, etc... Perhaps if they actually lived or visited the region, they'd know what they were talking about.

Go to another thread. No one cares about the genocidal Serbs here.

nah, this thread is about Belgium and their silly little war-crimes claims... other cases of where NATO was wrong are completely relevant. Perhaps we should also discuss the state of Mississippi and their history of government sponsored racism.

War crimes are a bit more specific than "vague and unspecified," and what happened in Iraq was rather clear to the rest of the world.

Think of the boost in your reputation when you prove your innocence!

Oh, he's only interested in posturing against US policy? An excellent reason to submit to such nonsense.
Excellent point Mtg, why is only the USA that everybody is looking at, look at the world full of really bad guys, warlords in Africa who kill millions, have they ever been brought to justice. See what I mean, the whole idea is a joke.

-How the hell do you mean vague? LOL
-Everybody is so ignorant... At this moment there are about 50 cases similar to this one if I recall correctly... including a variety of African murderers for example..
One case has been finished already, I think it was 4 Rwandian war criminals that were found guilty.. I also read in the paper a while ago that a second case was soon to be finished.. I haven't followed it that much though.

Yeah right, that's really the reason.

The real reason is because of money and location.

New Europe is closer to the Middle East and a hell of alot cheaper to setup shop.

Plus they behave properly unlike you crybaby Old Europeans.
-Yes they behave properly like little children always do whatever daddy syas..

daddy says support my righteous and just invasion of Iraq and the little children will be impressed and say yes we support you!
Anyway eastern europe being cheaper.. it's possible, but the infrastructure won't be quite what you guys were used to in Belgium

oh and by the way , we are not mass murderers , at least we dont have some-one in the gov who's mother and father worked for the gestapo , ....
go to the town of mechelen , .....
Panag, finally, can you actually come with any valid arguments instead of this pile of crap?
I LIVE IN MECHELEN and I sure as hell don't know anybody in the government (living in Mechelen ) that has any ties to gestapo scum... Jezus I really wonder in what kind of ultra-right israeli paper you read that absolute bollox.

belgium still has no thruth commision after 55 years , ....
what the hell... I mean.... give me a break..

About belgians with parents in gestapo, at least they don't have PMs who have committed war-crimes... I'm not talking about not-entirely-clear things like Lebanon. I'm talking about simple things like execution of prisoners, civilian killings in villages... I had a very interesting conversation once with a person who served under Sharon in the 50's...
In any case, I think that the Belgian law is silly... Not immoral or bad or anything, just silly
Laws depend on the ability to enforce them. They have no other legitimacy whatsoever. I rest my case
