    I think I can say with no fear, that's a wasted effort.

            No Sh*t. I passed out in the jungle in PI one time. This bar girl and a bartender got me wasted. This chick said that she could drink me under the table. The bartender was in on it. We went one for one with glasses of Mojo. That's a type of drink they have there that is a mixture of all kind of liquor, beer and punch. The bartender was just giving her punch though. I couldn't believe how she was holding her booze since she couldn't have been more than 100 pounds. I think I stood up out of instinct and left the bar. She tried to stop me but I just pushed her out of the way. I couldn't make it back to the base so I just walked off into the jungle and passed out. It might have been the Mojo, but monkeys were jumping all around me. And there were bug bites all over my arms when I woke up.
            I drank beer. I like beer. I still like beer. ... Do you like beer Senator?

              I thought E-4s were Sergeants, or Staff Sergeants?

              At any rate, no officers here? No products or ROTC?

              I always wanted to join the Marine Corps JAG one day (officer status, we start as like majors with a law degree I heard, and little fighting, great mess dress too I have an air force one as a cadet). I wanted to go straight into the Reserves, then realized how stupid that sounded. Does the Corps even have a National Guard?

                Sergeant = E5, Staff Sergeant = E6.

                GP is an O4 Navy reservist. AFAIK, he's the Poly SRO.

                  Im going AFROTC for the next few years. I believe that will put me in the reserve, and I'll graduate (hopefully) with a commission in the Air Force. I was offered the type II ROTC scholarship as a consolation after being deemed qualified to enter the academy, but they lacked room (as there were more qualified people on top of me), or somethn like that. But I think AFROTC is the best way for me to go all round.

                        Voluntarily drafted to The Royal Guard, served in 1985-86. The Royal Guards consist of regular combat troops, except 3 months of guard duty at the Royal Palaces etc. is included at the end of the training.

                        Batallion transfered to other regiment upon discharge, been on week-long manoeuvres twice since then, but not for the past 10 years.

                          K-here's a question from a civilian.

                          My cousin tried explaining this to me but I didn't understand.

                          Whats the difference between a commission and a non-commissioned person?

                          My cousin was talking all military speak so I didn't understand a word he said.

                              With all these 'Poly's military men, we could have formed an army, and went for total world domination. Or maybe not...
                              Let's just keep it at computer level.
