"Many, many people have a problem with you in terms of your communication."

So have I with certain people.

"The point is which will have more effect--the action or the nonaction."

Indeed. And on Iraq, it is difficult to find any positive consequence apart from Saddam being gone. But a good deal of negative ones.

"You're not one of our allies. Your country is neutral."

We are not your allies, but we are no more neutral.

"Or is it the French continuting their Gaulist seperatism (force de frappe, non-full participation in NATO, etc.)"

France was on board in gulf war 2, Bosnia and Kosovo.

"If I decided to do the right thing and it drove you to apoplexy, it would still be the right thing."

There is as much a problem of style as one of substance. Bush has failed to give a convincing reason for the Iraq adventure. Non-existant Al Qaeda ties, non-existant WMDs, Sadam is bad, remaking the ME - what was it? But an amazing arrogance that anyone opposing an illegal and stupid war is an enemy.

Well be careful what you say about people, they may just turn out that way.
“Now we declare… that the law-making power or the first and real effective source of law is the people or the body of citizens or the prevailing part of the people according to its election or its will expressed in general convention by vote, commanding or deciding that something be done or omitted in regard to human civil acts under penalty or temporal punishment….” (Marsilius of Padua, „Defensor Pacis“, AD 1324)

    • Those americans are crazy

The Bush administration, alarm-ed by intelligence suggesting that al Qaeda operatives in Iran had a role in the May 12 suicide bombings in Saudi Arabia, has suspended once-promising contacts with Iran and appears ready to embrace an aggressive policy of trying to destabilize the Iranian government, administration officials said.

couple that with the pre-election promises

A great country strives for great objectives. The two big goals at the center of my agenda are expanding peace and freedom throughout the world, ...

edit: it actually sounds a lot like that movie " I come in peace"

      In Short

I Come In Peace combines the basic elements of a cheesy cop movie and a cheesy alien movie to create… a cheesy action movie with cops and aliens. Fans of Dolph Lundgren or B-grade action will get a kick out this film, though.

Vietnam in Iraq? Nope. Lebanon, maybe.

            Dino: "No they weren't."

            I count Iran/Iraq as Gulf war 1.

As long as Iraq stood, we were in no position to threaten Saudi, Syria, or Iran.

                      That's your reason.
