Still, he [Jacques Chirac] is the main person to blame for all of the discord.

I'm not in the mood to celebrate. We are doing such a suck job over there right now that I don't see how this will help. There is no sufficient govt services over there still. People are already getting fed up.

It's clear that Chirac picked this fight in order to, once again, revive his failing political carreer and to keep people from looking at the corruption in his own administration. Remeber how only something like 40% of French voters liked Chirac due to the never ending stream of corruption scandals? Geee, all of that attention went away as soon as he started beatting the flames of anti-Americanism.

Face facts. Chirac made the rift just so he could survive politically.

What is clear is that Chirac would not have even though of starting the controversy if a surprisingly strong support had not show up internally and externally. Like it or not Chirac had an almost inexistent role in the birth of the pseudo fight; he was too busy keeping a low profile after his 82%. I am their cheif, therefore I follow them.

Low profile?! Are you on crack? He sent his attack dogs following Powell around the global trying to whip people into an anti-American frenzy. He knew this crisis was his ticket out of the doghouse and he was right. 82% of Frenchmen are happy with him now instead of the minority prior to the crisis.

                    Law of the jungle, eh?

So what, it is vital to the Chinese that Taiwan cease to be an independent state. But that doesn't give them the right to invade it.

I'll remind myself of this next time some other militaristic aggressor invades a sovereign nation.

It's clear that Chirac picked this fight in order to, once again, revive his failing political carreer and to keep people from looking at the corruption in his own administration.
And Bush didn't fo it for money and votes. Come on. They even said that they were doing it for votes.

It doesn't matter anyway, Chirac was on the side of right and you are just wrong. The given reasons for invading Iraq have not panned out and it's obvious that the real reasons were typically venal.

Remember what a lame duck president Bush would have been if it weren't for 911? Now who's got the interest in starting wars.

As for the flames of anti-Americanism. Well I'm pleased to say that the rest of the world now knows who the biggest international menace is.

I doubt it. I don't see AQ basically threatening to use nuclear weapons.

I love how the lefties go bonkers when the administration wants to lift the ban on nuclear research. Just watch as the chicken littles begin screaming that the sky is falling.
