    So now's the question.

Ethically, Morally, are they better than regular nukes, or worse?
Where is the "yes, they are equally good" option?

GePap: I still don't see it leaving a comparable level of pollution. I know it does have a large explosion, still, but AFAIK, it dissappears in a matter of days not years.

Efficiency and progress is ours once more
Now that we have the Neutron bomb
It's nice and quick and clean and gets things done
        Away with excess enemy
But no less value to property
No sense in war but perfect sense at home:
The sun beams down on a brand new day
No more welfare tax to pay
Unsightly slums gone up in flashing light
        Jobless millions whisked away
At last we have more room to play
All systems go to kill the poor tonight
        Gonna
Kill kill kill kill Kill the poor:Tonight
        Behold the sparkle of champagne
        The crime rate's gone
        Feel free again
O' life's a dream with you, Miss Lily White
Jane Fonda on the screen today
        Convinced the liberals it's okay
So let's get dressed and dance away the night
        While they:
Kill kill kill kill Kill the poor:Tonight
"Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

I really don't see neutron bombs being any more acceptable than nukes. But I could see neutron bombs being used in defense war, fought in own soil. Only if fought in own soil, I can see that possibility. Saving OWN infrastucture, not enemies to use it later. That is only way I could see it being used. Own soil. Kill the enemy. Right in the face.

According to the figures, a 1 kiloton neutron bombs would create as much deadly neutron radiation as a 13 kiloton regular nuke, and would in theory create an area of one mile radius in which people 9and other things) would be expossed to a fatal dose of radiation.

In theory, it was supposed to be an anti-armor device to be used on the hordes of Soviet armor. Their high yield of neutron radiation would dop a better job at armor penetration, and since they are relatively 'low yield' they coyuld 'safely" be used in crowded areas.Of course, to get a large area of effectiveness, you need larger bombs.
How good would they be at penetrating the Armor of modern Russian MBTs?

N enriched boms are normaly done by removing tamper or additing layer designed to increase N. The reaction is started by normal Nuc bomb then it could continue by reaction that should produce fast high energy neutrons. Common source of fast high energy neutrons is Tri De reaction. So you can guess it's something like a small fussion bomb without tamper.

They thougth, if tanks would be hit by neutrons, it would couse secondary radiation and that tanks would be unusable for next operation.

You know when attacking Russians you'll be better prepared against them and air superiority will not matter.
Wait you think they would attack, pretty strange. Well Kenedy was dead and mc Cartney was contained, when N enriched bombs apeared, IIRC , so there wasn't big enought threat to Russian federation to attack.

They didn't think about what would do Russian sodliers, that have problems from being irradiated, to civilian population. When some would use N bomb against such attack I don't think geneva convetion would apply.

they would also have to consider what the Russians would use in retaliation
