until that day happens (I don't think it ever will) any ladies wanting to play in the PGA will just have to get a piggy back off the sponsors.

You put him at championship distances and I bet he wouldn't break 80. My father who is in his 70's can still shoot par, but he's doing it on a much much shorter course.

I could have played Junior B hockey, and if I were determined enough, at least made it to the AHL.
Hmm, so marathon runners aren't athletes too?

Check out his bio. He was very good at other sports.

The point is, he has the necessary skills to be considered a good golfer. And zero athletic ability. But I agree... combining athletic ability with anything, will probably increase your performance. That still doesn't make golf a sport, or make golfers athletes.

I'd stack Tiger's athleticism against most baseball, football, basketball, soccer and hockey players. I never said he was a gymnist. But if you don't think the others are athletes, then I'll agree with you.
No way. He would get his ass handed to him in baseball, football, basketball, soccer, and especially hockey, and I would personally do it in soccer.

And he actually shot lower than his age too

But it's not only just the distance... the greens are set up MUCH faster/harder for PGA events. In addition, the ruff if also set much higher than you will find at your typical country club. Pin placements are also far more difficult than you will face on your normal Saturday Mornng Game. And the average tour course is far harder in general than what many people play. Augusta isn't the course down the street

A friend of mine is a -3 handicap playing at one of the more difficult country clubs in the Chicago District. He tried going out for the tour, and didn't stand a chance.

sava, your claim to be more athletic than the top golfers might well have been true in the 80's but times change, some of the 'old guard' are still hanging around but increasingly these guys are young, athletic and focused.

Sorenstams Average Drive is 275.4 yds.

Which would make her 159 on the PGA tour.

But looking at the list, I noticed a lot of players that drive shorter distances that regularly appear in the Top 10 of tournaments.

                  ACK!

You're logic is strange. Please don't try to put words in my mouth. Sure runners are athletes. But running isn't a sport.

and about Tiger... was is the key word there. I'm well aware of Tiger Woods and his history. Perhaps I was a little to boastful... but that's my nature... I'm confident in my abilities, but if you want a detailed analysis of what a Tiger vs Sava competition would be like:

baseball: I'm not sure how one could compete 1 on 1, but I can say that I am an excellent batter. I have a lot of power and hit a lot of line drives. I play regularly with my buddies. One of which played for the Schaumburg Flyers two years ago. So I can hit against at least semi-Pro pitching.

football: Tiger wouldn't survive against me. I've got good speed, good hands, and a mean tackler. In a pickup game, tackling, no pads, Tiger would be my b1tch. Unless of course he's a good QB...

basketball: I suck at BB, so Tiger would probably beat me.

soccer: this is a toss-up... I don't play a lot, but when I did, was successful. I don't know how good Tiger is

hockey: oh please, Tiger would last about 5 seconds and be done

races: I'm a very good sprinter... I run about a 6and half minute mile... Tiger could probably beat me in endurance races. This is due to the differences in our builds. I'm 5'9'' and 195 lbs. Tiger's taller and skinnier. While I might be stronger, that strength would work against me in longer races.

dammit... this is a stupid and pointless debate... but I typed it so I'll post it.

Hitting a 4 iron out of deep rough requires considerable strength. He makes it look effortless. If strength wasn't an issue in golf, there would be no need for a senior's tour or a women's tour.

I didn't say that... STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH PEOPLE.

I didn't say I was more athletic that the PGA people. I said I could kick Tiger's ass in a variety of competitions. He's got his skillset, I've got mine.

Obviously you've never done it or you would know better.

SAVA, it started with you claiming that today's golfers aren't athletes. It has evolved into "you can't kick their ass" because you wouldn't admit that they were athletes. But now it sounds like you might agree on some level so it's unimportant who can kick who's ass.
