Talking of state property, can we assume we'll be going for communism when we get it for rp reasons and plan based on that?

I'd better not be going sp for rp reasons (and don't do anything else too just because of rp ).
It's useful if we will be big and if we use a lot of workshops.
However, I don't see we being neither atm, even if we consume bananas we will be able to lower the distance upkeep by forbidden palace.
Also, we rather need free market for the additional trade route, if we're going the financial route.

We can rp it so that the people adopted free market, just to understand how bad capitalism is in the end and how it ruined the planet and made them leave to Alpha Centauris..

It looks like the spot 2. could actually be a very good next city location with iron and cow.

That would make our military city buildup done as Tassagrad is already doomed to be a barracks site and this other one is very well suited too

          I like that

The only problem I can see is that we will have a bit of trouble getting the culture to grow... We'll need to whip/chop libaries (not very useful on a military camp) or get Drama (pretty far away), to use theatres (I'm leaningfor that for the iron city)

In any case, we've got copper so Iron isn't that much of a priority, and we've got a couple of better city sites (I'd fund 6 before 2, for example)

We might also want to extend ouselves beyond the river, as the bananas have quite enough land to their south and east...

Also, let's hope we don't need horses anytime soon... #4 is a hellhole....

That city will be high on hammers, so an obelisk wouldn't be a problem.

ah, right. In my last game (which was marathon) I had libraries way before I had obelisks, or any religion for that matter.

Btw, number 4 was actually proposed to move 1 tile east, to hook up deer, I've just been lazy and haven't yet marked that proposal on the map.

Number 5, however is a powerful site as is - deer, wheat, marble and iron (out of this map).

I would hope we do build #5 as thieirs wheat just off the edge of the map that it could be using which combined with the deer would greatly compensate for all that Tundra. If 5 is buit then 4 might stay ware it is for one thing its got more water tiles which we expect will be the most productive.

I'd go for site 2 for Iron hookup as our next city with 6 following that.

And iron too, but there's one problem - we should negotiate the spot for our city with Bananas - I remember there were talks about river being the border and #5 is on the Banana side then.

They never did agree to a firm border but did recognize our claim on the marble. Site 5 isn't realy provocative considering whats been agree on, still I agree we should inform them and see if their are any objections. If it comes it the same message that shows them ware the Iron is, it would be hard for them to refuse.

i'd like to put the next city in spot 5, just for blocking them from getting it.

We'd just need to warn them then, so no border conflict arises.

I'd rather wait, site 5 is completely useless until a border expansion... I wouldn't build it until after 6 and 2...

If we're going to depend on a border pop to claim iron, we need to plant the city sooner rather than later
