So, what do others think about the screenshot issue?
I've decided I'm ok with that level of openness. Keeping the map of our core territory secret served us well in the PTWDG, but this is a new game with new circumstances. Keeping the map secret could very well still provide us with tactical advantages should we be the target of an invasion (and surely at some point we will be).
Despite that, I favor showing them our core as they have showed us theirs, under the assumption that neither or us is to distribute such information further. IIRC, that may be illegal anyway (passing on the screenies), but there are potential gray areas (ala " GS's copper is south of EotS" being passed on to an enemy or potential enemy). I don't think AC would do that, at least not at this point, but I'd want it clearly understood that the info is for them and them alone (we may decide to share the same with 'nana at some point, but that's another matter).
Speak up, teamates. I'd like to decide on this and move on. AC isn't pressing us on it, AFAIK, but it would be good to have decided on a policy such that if NYE finds himself in a chat and is pressed, he has an idea of what to say.
I guess we have to send them a screenshot, I suppose of the floodplains and the true proximity between Vox and GS (so we can leave out the land to the west ).
Their jaws will drop at our big mess of floodplains but that's how it is.
I concur. (and sorry to be late in adding my 2c). Give them our screenshots... I'd like them to be our friends. At least they don't have ou map yet, which means it would be harder for them to distribute this info.
Can we put a disclaimer on the shots that these are considered secret and not to be shared with others?
We felt that it would be good to reciprocate with your generous provision of a map of your near lands. We would never dream of sharing the shot you sent us with another civ and we would ask that you not share ours with any other civ either.
Large blue dots mark our cities. The red one to the East is The Voice. There is no path outside of culture between us and Vox. The smaller light blue dots mark a path around our borders.
We hopw all goes well with you and that prospects for our agreement and trades are progressing smoothly.
Regards
nye

Dear Friends at Gathering Storm,
We're agreed with the terms you propose as the final in the Tech Trade agreement, but there's one minor thing that bothers us.
Due to lack of immediately available hapiness resources in our lands, we'd very much like to found a religion of our own as soon as possible.
We've also figured out that our research schedule after researching Alphabet is quite undecided and there's no very important tech to be researched immediately and quickly.
Therefore we've decided, that we should research Monotheism, which appears to be the quickest route to obtaining religion.
As you mentioned that you have invested in Polytheism quite a lot, it'd be very nice that you switch for a few turns and finish it first before Maths and be ready to exchange right when we finish Alphabet.
We understand that it's a change in your schedule and is not really desirable, therefore we offer a compensation in form of halving that 150 credit IOU we were talking about, when we discussed the techs to be exchanged. We figure that you need some 2 turns to finish Polytheism in which case 75 beakers would be appropriate compensation. This is of course subject to negotiation.
Also, note that due to time being short and you not being able (if you're willing to at all) to finish Masonry in time we will be researching that tech ourselves, thus that part of the tech deal will change.
We hope that you find such a deal appealing, if not, we're open for a quick round of negotiations, unless you're sure that you are not changing away from Mathematics, which we would understand and accept without anger.
erhm... do they offer us beakers if we give them poly rightaway? Don't think too much about this, just go for it.
75 beakers is more then we could gain for not making it cheaper for others. I wouldn't even start to negotiate with them, it could make for some good friends.
