I am know as Impaler[WrG] and serve the One Yang as chief Diplomate of the Royal court
Our prefered method of comunication is through this G-mail account, my prefered chat is IRC

Our people have been in friendly contact with the ones know as Bananas for ages and it
was they who spoke of meeting a third tribe to the south. We hope that in the coming
years we can develop fruitfull relations with GatheringStorm as well.

Their are many matters to be discussed, might you express your feelings on some
of the following issues our people are interested in.. Map-exchanges, Territorial border treaties,
establishment of traderoutes either by land or by sea, Technological-exchanges
and 3-way Chat with Bananas.

3 way chat is good, if only for info. tech exchanges...hints that they may be going for alphabet...maps can sod off.

Can we remind them to spell names correctly though?

A friendly response... I would continue in the same spirit. There is absolutely no point in trying to offend them, and who knows, they might turn out to be a good trading partner.

I feel we should take the position that good relations and cooperation with both AC and Banana are welcome.

If we can, we should get a border at the choke point before they move units down there and find Vox.

I am going to try to not mention Vox at all. We could do well by living up to the letter of Snoopy's ruling for as long as possible. I'm going to maintain that we have barb lands near us and that we feel the need for defence first.

If, and when I am called on the lack of early game barbs, I am going to say that our evaluation of the map led us to assume that there would be a major problem with barbs in our future due to large expanses of wasteland and that we are not intending to get caught with too little strength. Also, we drew unlucky with several bears in the area (this will be the closest I come to a lie; the barbs I referred to earlier are, in fact, Vox).

I'm not sure how to handle map exchanges though. Any screen shot trades would reveal Vox or have large, unexplained blank spots of known territory.

The people of Gathering Storm welcome the opportunity to develop fruitful relations with Team Alpha Centaurians.

Everything is open for discussion with us. Good borders make for good neighbours is an old saying among our people. Map exchanges are always an interesting topic for discussion. The benefits of trade are ever-present in our thoughts. Technology exchanges could be quite useful and we welcome discussion of the possibilities.

Our communications with the Bananas have been difficult in that there has not been much. We understand their predicament though as rumours have reached us of unheavals among them (too bad several members have left).

On behalf of Gathering Storm, I welcome the opportunity to discuss matters of mutual benefit with Team Alpha Centaurians and Banana.

We're going to have problems with the map trading aspect.

I may fall back on democracy as an excuse.

GS have always been against trading maps at an early point, blah, blah...

I assume this would be true. I doubt very much we want to trade shots prior to Vox gaining contact, but it should be drawn out so that we are not flatly saying no. Once Vox have contact, then not many reasons not to.

Meh. I can jsut make a scneario of the land we know of for econ work, and then edit out knowledge of Vox. Take a screen shot of that and hey presto. A map we can trade if we feel like it.

GF tried something similar before on us, and we didn't exactly appreciate it...

map trading is only allowed after we can trade maps in game, right? Otherwise, please let's not mess with editing anything. It leads to too much trouble.

IIRC map trading was allowed from the very start; I recall being very vocal about it, because it severely screwed up border negoitiations in the C3C ISDG 1st round.

As for the map trade from a scenario, I would not ever suggest that we trade our entire map until we have a very good reason to do so, like PTWDG. editing the map to show false info is dfefinately a no-no; omitting info by hiding it behind the FoW is OK IMO, so long as we never say "These are the maps of all the land we have uncovered so far"
