Well, by that time the only barb problem I can imagine is if they popped 'hostile villagers'.

Well, it was way too early for such, I'd even bet there's no such city even now on our entire world.

We have retroactive GNP graphs, right? we should be able to guess roughly how much beakers they've been outputting through the periods we're not certain what tech they got.

Also, maybe they saved up a bit of money to deficit spend later with libraries?

Their GNP graph is pretty flat for all of history.

I suggest to send the following message to Gathering Storm:

"Do you want to keep it hidden from Banana that you plan to research Mathematics?"

I think its about time we created a poll on researching Alphabet next, once thats confirmed we will have something to say diplomaticaly to both teams. To Storm in particular were looking at the following tradables

                  AC
                  Animal Husbandry, IronWorking, Alphabet

                  Storm
                  Archery, Masonry, Mathematics

Lets look at the numbers but I would suspect we can do IW and Alpha for all three of their techs and still be getting less points then we give.

Companions the creator seeks, and fellow harvesters; for everything about him is ripe for the harvest. - Thus spoke Zarathustra, Fredrick Nietzsche

                    The numbers:

                    AC
                    Animal Husbandry: 143
                    Iron Working: 286
                    Alphabet: 429
                    Total: 858

                    GS
                    Archery: 85
                    Masonry: 114
                    Mathematics: 357
                    Total: 556

                    Alphabet + Animal Husbandry = 572
                    Animal Husbandry + Iron Working = 429

Eh. Hmmmmm. Actually we need all those three techs they have. I'm loath to give them alphabet if they're in contact with Mercenary. If we asked them not to trade with Mercenary we could threaten them with PJay the score number cruncher who will know if they cheat on us!

Well, we could make the deal on such basis:

1st and as soon as possible we trade AH for Masonry, which is a +29 debet to us

2nd and as soon as possible we trade Iw for Maths, which leaves us at -42 credit

3rd we arrange Archery + something good for Alphabet

If only they agree to this..

Should they want Fishing/Sailing, we could trade those to them.

If we're going to trade with both GS and the nanas, doing so separately with either of them will probably not be recieved happily.

We can act as an intermediary between them, but no giving GS nana techs or vice versa in exchang for somthing for us.

If they want a three-way tech deal though, surely they should compensate us for for researching Alphabet?

Well, lets hope we dont trade Alphabet before taking on Bananas, then we will be the only ones on this continent having those few techs they researched and traded, so GS will have no other choice than to buy them from us
