sorry to throw a bucket of cold water in here, but 'Operation NTSC' is a long way from complete. We still have to wrap up 'Operation Backstab' but that is pretty straight forward from here.

Hey, I can be wrong too! Glad to be wrong here. Of course, Donovan totally screwed up the whole part where he would cooperate with us; we were trying to gift him a trio of City Raider II maces for use on a second galleon. The only reason the darn thing worked is because PAL was unbelievably sloppy, leaving a single defender in their capital when they KNEW that Banana had galleons running around.

But this is one time where I was glad to be horribly, terribly wrong.

Are you sure you don't want Acre? For your small empire it will easily pay for itself and turn into a nice city. But for us it's a burden in terms of maintenence and it clashes with your cultural borders. You are more than welcome to it, just request it.

We are currently saving money up because we are building oxford university. Once that is finished we will turn the science slider up. We will eventually finish optics and ask for astronomy to complete our education-astro trade but currently we don't want to obsolete the colossus before we have cities available to build boats. We have a GS due in 7 turns, whom we will use to lightbulb printing press. Want to trade it for chemistry? What's your eta for that tech by the way?

They could put a spearman in the city. I hear that's a good defence against a boating.

Oromos are probably overkill for a low priority city like Acre. 1 longbow, 1 pike, and 1 crossbow would be a fine garrison until cavalry or rifles. Remember, even a crossbow (and Banana's are protective!) is about strength 9 versus strength 7.2 for a Cuirassier, and that's about as favorable of a battle as you can get. I say let PAL take the city if they burn 6 Cuirassieres to do so .

I don't really want to donate oromos, but if they put say a musket and an archery unit in the city it should be fairly safe unless PAL wants to commit a lot of troops.

Does anyone want to comment on regoarrarr's suggestion that we are better off keeping the city?
