  • I wouldn't say anything to Templars or in public until the turn is over. If they don't notice the stack, it's their fault. We just need a screenshot of units and their treasury at 16 hour mark.

As for peace terms, at this point we can demand complete capitulation, or at least any techs they can give us (Theology?) and OB.

    • This is what will probably happen:

Templars log in during Imperio turns and illegally promote units.
We demand a reload with screenshot evidence to before the promotion.
We kill the unpromoted templar troops next turn.

Just to be absolutely certain about this: we'd be perfectly happy with that turn of events if they don't promote before 16 hrs on the clock? Are you sure? We want to kill unpromoted troops because their turnplayer is lazy?

      • I would say yes.

If they aren't paying attention and are making illegal moves, we absolutely deserve to attack unpromoted units.

EDIT: The CivStat clock doesn't exactly match the ingame clock. Which one would we go by?

        • The screenshots will have the in-game clock on them, so that's the one I think we should go by.

I would rather they were playing competently yes, but I'm not going to help them do so at our own detriment.

            • Considering that they didn't mind illegally double-moving a settler to claim contested site, pillaging roads in neutral lands while pretending to conduct negotiations, going back on trade deals, etc, we don't have to do their turnplayer's job for them. If it was any other team, I might be tempted to be extra nice, but Templars have exhausted all good will a long time ago.

Oh, I despise the templars as much as the next guy, but I wouldn't feel right trampling over unpromoted troops because of a timing technicality. It's not like they have double-moved us or taken advantage of the simultaneous turns.

Your points aren't all correct BTW. Their settler double move was not illegal because we did not have a settler in the area and we didn't protest at the time anyway. Pillaging neutral roads before declaring war is basically just declaring war without doing so yet and is a valid tactic. We never actually had a trade deal with templars for drama in writing. All we have is that banana said "templars are in", without giving their exact wording.

                  • So how far off is the in-game clock from civstats; the latter says their 16hrs are over, so who is going in to take the necessary screenies?

                    • Hold the phone, it appear that templars did actually upgrade when they logged in.

Notice the upgraded and promoted pikeman:

Here is the southern stack, unmoved:

                      And the gold totals:

                      • So they've spent 95g (using m_h's earlier number) - I assume that's the right amount for a Spear-Pike upgrade.

                        • Actually, maybe their units are unpromoted because they cannot even promote! They weren't built from cities with barracks! They have promoted all of their units previously that they could (notice city raider and barrage cats that have never raided any cities or barraged any stacks ) and have done so with that crossbow, so maybe they simply cannot promote their maces.

Notice that Jericho does not have a barracks and the crossbow that was just made from the city is unpromoted. The only two cities that we are tracking that have barracks are Jerusalem and Damasus. No data on Constantinople.

                          • Okay, so they promoted a spear to a pike and brought in a second mace from somewhere? Not ideal, but we should be able to handle that OK.

PS - A pike promoted to SHOCK?!?! That will make the mace v pike battle a whopping 13.6 vs 8.22

                            • What confuses me is why they have left the stack in the south stationary. Either they should send it toward pink dot or use it to defend their northern front.

                              • Maybe they didn't have time to decide what to do and think they'll have more time...maybe they expect us to just camp our units outside...
