Apologies for the delayed response but with the holiday season our team has not chatted togeter much.

In order for us to help each other we really need to know what technologies you guys have and more importantly what technologies you are eager to obtain in the short to medium term future.

We would also like for you guys to give us some intelligence on what your island is up to. Using a process of elimination, we already know you share your island with Inca and Maya; Inca has access to stone and has already built Stonehenge .

Our island is made up of us, Banana and Rabbit, we are the only team that has access to your island and also the only team to be placed on the west coast of the island - Therefore it is pretty unlikely you will meet the other 2 teams until caravels.

We could be of great assistance, during war time. If you guys are the closest civilization we could land and gift units, if not we can land them on an enemies back cites.

The options are limitless, we really need some input from your team at this stage, so that it ties in with both our plans - Although there is no great rush with this timer Tongue

The 'access to other island' comment is wrong - from my view of the map, a galley can travel over there.

Regarding this email:

I do not think we should send them a screenshot or admit that we are the only civ without copper or horses. That could lead them to reevaluate if we are the civ they want to cooperate with. How about a written description of our island:

They seem to be slightly mistaken about stonehenge. I suggest:

In fact it was Maya that completed stonehenge, not Inca. Inca's capital is quite fertile and they have founded 2 religions. The Mayans have flood plains and gold in their capital and look well set.

I don't really see any harm in telling them our tech situation. How about:

We have researched AH, BW, Archery, Agriculture and The Wheel. We have nearly finished Pottery and will research Iron Working next. How is your tech situation? Would you be researching anything soon that you would trade for Iron Working, such as alphabet?

Accronyms for techs are annoying, but PAL seem like a team that would use them so we should too. They seem like people who would say "REX" a lot .

Totally agree on the lack of screenie - just a description. Agree with the comment re capitals and stonehenge.

Wait one - aren't we currently researching agriculture (due in 3 turns)? Are we slightly mis-representing ourselves - not a problem but they might catch us out if they have a Clock and Dagger section as good as ours.

I don't see the harm in saying we are almost done with Agriculture and going for Potter -> Iron Working next. I think we should be more enthusiastic, they made an offer on military assistance and we should touch on that. I'd say something along the lines of:

"We appreciate the offer of military assistance; we have no immediate needs as we are higher in soldier points than our neighbors and have no immediate plans for aggression. We extend a similar offer to your team."

Or something to that effect...

Oh yeah, I got muddled since I haven't logged into the game for over a week.

While I agree we should say something about the offer for military assistence, saying "We have more soldier points" rather than "We have lots of soldiers" says to me that we're bluffing. Maybe just include Darrel's quote without the "as we are higher in soldier points than our neighbors" clause.

Regarding your offer of military assistance which court us by surprise ... a pleasant surprise, not a bad one. Thank you for this offer. We will keep this in mind when considering future military action. At the moment, we feel comfortable that we have enough military for our defense and have no immediate plans for aggression
