Thank you for your gracious reply and letting our scout pass. Our gratitude will stand the test of time. Just FYI, we have masonry, but fully understand your desire to research it now to access your stone. When the time comes that allows us to trade we will provide a more expansive list of our current techs. We are most eager to see progress in your visionary proposal and can't wait for that day when we can mutually advance our techs through continued co-operation.

In the area of separate and tradable research paths, we have a strong preference for the Southern route that includes Meditation and Priesthood. Our long term research relationship should be based on beaker parity. We realize that at any given moment one may owe the other a number of beakers, but over the long term it will balance out.

If you agree to take the Writing-Alphabet route, it must include the condition that when you research Alphabet you get it to us within 3 turns. If no trade is possible the tally of beakers for alphabet will be to our debit and we'll pay it off with our next available science.

What other civ have you detected? Three civs on an island working in concert would be more powerful than two. Especially, as you point out, if two financial civs are on the other island working together. Lettuce be forthright and not keep these things from each other.

Since we can't sign open borders until writing we will have to have a >>>non violent<<< state of 'war' in order for our scout to pass your territory. So, we will do so and when we pass we will quickly end the 'war' and resume the 'peace'. None of this will have any effect on our current state of friendship. During the 'war' we will still be at peace and in our current state of being in each others good graces. The 'war' will be a simple expedient and meaningless as we remain your close friends. Although, if you agree, some public disinformation about our war could aid long term strategy (wink, wink.)

We would like to again thank you. It was our pleasure to have our scout do fog busting duty on your Northern border, barbarians can be so pesky. I'm sure with the groundwork laid by your proposal we can find a common ground mutually beneficial that fully describes our good relations. If you agree to this tech trading proposal, the next possible topic for discussion would be non duplication of World Wonder pursuit.

Thanks for your response; it seems we are now moving in the right direction.

For the short terms lets get something in place to trade monarchy for alphabet – PAL are happy for you guys to go the south route and we pursue alphabet. But as a result we would obviously need meditation (or polytheism) and priesthood.

Here is a list of the technologies we currently have:

Fishing
Wheel
Agriculture
Mysticism
Mining
Bronze Working
Masonry (4 turns away)


We plan to get hutting next, followed by writing then alphabet. Could we get a similar list of your technologies? At the very least propose something of equal-ish bottles.

Once we have this trade agreed upon by both teams, we would suggest getting a longer term technology alliance/agreement/plan in place – But lets take it 1 step at a time, 48 hours per turn means we don’t have to rush anything.

We have team Banana on this island as well and have not met anyone else – We would prefer to discuss their involvement at a later date – They have already expressed no desire to win this game

As for world wonders, discussions would probably make more sense once we have a technology plan and know who is going for what. But just so we are on the same wavelength, what wonders are you guys particularly eager to build? You say you have masonry, therefore we assume you have stone or marble?

It’s pretty important we know, because we have stone and are industrial.

Lastly, we are still chasing a long term peace treaty, where do you guys stand with this? Building military can be rather wasteful for both teams; we would prefer only warriors, for garrison.

One thing is sure: I'd like us to pay no heed to their suggestion of only having a warrior force.

Tipping their cow is a plan. In order to be able to write replies we need to have a plan. Please everyone post a vote in my poll, or lay out a plan as Rob suggested. I haven't a clue what to write about where we're going if we're blind. What is our intent? Attack PAL? Attack team Banana? When, in ten turns or a hundred?

I've given up the writing job until I know what our objectives are.

We had the objective of moving our scout forward and that gave me something to write about. We needed to determine our tech path and I was able to help Chuckman with writing that. Now, I don't know.

If nobody wants a plan, someone else should write.
