        artillery hits: 14
        13/13 cavalry army vs 3/4 infantry - retreats 1/13 2/4

That was pretty convincing, so all troops moved out of Roman territory. Your bla bla over ethics, truces and wars still do not really invite me to a lengthy response. Before making a fuss about the definition of a truce, maybe you should go to Israel and convince both parties over there of the definition and ethics on truces.

Off course I was annoyed I did not make full use of the artillery units. In fact, I'm annoyed I allowed you to defend SIM that easily while I was able to make that quite more difficult. Wouldn't you be?

        • Hehe, yes without your Artillery there to pummel my troops, it's a different ball game

So you seem to be saying a truce in this game isn't worth the laptop it's typed on....that would seem so from the Germans. Oh and.....errrr.....in your example, just which one of us would be the Israelis?

While I concede you could have made it more difficult for me, moving your troops to tiles other than the one you did may have resulted in you splitting your forces and exposing them somewhat.

Nevertheless......Roman Artillery destroys German improvements, while Rome begins the long task of repairing its shell-ravaged lands. Bodies of women and children are dragged out of the muddy fields, killed horribly by merciless German shrapnel

(by the way - smart move researching Sanitation. In your position I would have done exactly the same )

A truce is not shooting/ fighting in anticipation of peace in my books. Clearly there were no negotiations going on towards peace and I took the opportunity to ditch some 4 units and almost loose my cavalry army.
And for the moment it seems there are no intentions to settle the matte for peace as you chose to fire your artillery as well.
Regarding the Israeli's/Palestines, I think they're just as good or bad...

Sounds like you're changing the story mate - you definitely agreed to a truce when you pulled out your troops, but attacked again a few turns later when I didn't accept in-game peace. As a result of your attack I was fully justified in shelling your improvements. You only withdrew the second time when you realised you had no hope of breaching my city's walls.

I concluded it to be a truce because the shooting had stopped. As I mentioned before, because there did not seem to be an intention going out towards peace, a war was still going on, which allowed me for a painfull operation.
You do not even have city walls as SIM is size 7+ and I shot them before.

Errr.....growing to a city of size 7 automatically gives you Walls. Am I missing something?

The Roman cleanup of German created potholes continues

                        • By the way, to my Iroquois friend the humble Caesar of Rome extends sincere (though belated) congratulations for your beautiful creation of the Sistine Chapel. Your handiwork does indeed bring admiration from all civilised nations of the world. Ahem...Rome, that is

Size 7 doesn't show city walls, but indeed at size 7 the city wall's def bonuss is granted to units in its city.

How's your Women's statue coming together Aqua?

Slowly But you know how important are the wives' feelings and emotions when their husbands are stationed at the front in a high pressure and dangerous environment. It's enough to incite a riot
