Thanks Gramps and catch you later in our other PBEM games. Well Played and thanks for giving me some type of influence in this game (limited as it is). 
Yes, I've tried to take over Gramps last city...only to have the game CRASH. Gramps, as a last ditch effort, tried to Ctrl Q ... and you guessed it: the game CRASHED.
So, for the continuity of the rest of the game, Grandpa Troll's last city is now under the control of Wittlich of the Iroquois Nation.
So any saves for Grandpa Troll for this game from this time forward should be sent to me at: wittlich(at)sbcglobal(dot)net
EDIT:
although that is rather irrelevent, since I am the one to pass the save to Gramps... So, nevermind about the forwarding of the saves.

Yes, thanks Gramps There was a time when you were the clear military threat in this game, yet relented at a critical time perhaps saving Rome from a nasty fate.

The crash problem brings to mind a concern - did it happen because it was Gramps' last city, or will it happen on any occasion where a city is captured? I suspect the former, because cities have been captured and abandoned previously in this game

Will do McMeadows.
Actually, the game will also crash on me if I go into the diplomacy advisor screen and try to make any changes to any of the deals I currently have going with McMeadows. I'm not sure why it crashes, but it does - so I've just left any deals that McMeadows and I have alone.

The German does not file battle reports for 2 turns, yet continues to blast my units with his Artillery. In the same breath he offers peace, after attacking me non-stop for 10 turns. How can such a despot be trusted?
German, remove your troops from my lands, advise me of the damage you have wrought, do not fire another shot this turn, and only then can we talk about a truce
